The author continues to build his universe. The stories to date have all been interesting and funny. This one is no different and while I enjoyed it, parts of it just seemed too easy for the crew, considering what they were up against. That being said, it’s a fun read and I’ll probably reread it in order to get all the nuances. I have bought the fourth book in the series and look forward to seeing where the author takes it and hopefully makes things a little more difficult for the entire crew and not just the robot. The series so far has a Guardians of the Galaxy feel to it, so if you like those type of story arcs, this is for you.
For a space-opera yarn? First rate. As literature? Nah. But I am interested in the characters--they seem to be getting better as the trilogy (so far) advances. Or maybe I'm immune to some of the things that stuck out in the first books - and that's good!
I'm now waiting...patiently...to purchase the next installment...and that's really the litmus test, isn't it?
