This books is just too adorable, but it is a bit emotional. We bought it for our son who was born into the NICU, we read it to him a lot. Unfortunately he passed away, so we keep the book on his memorial shelf. It’s is very beautiful and well put together. Definitely worth the buy.

First this book is so beautiful! It has the most calming illustrations on the most lovely paper.
Second, this book is so perfect for so many adoptees I know. Three of my children were adopted through foster care and we read this often and I tear up. Most adoption stories don't fit into a scripted narrative, but the sentiment that "you're where you belong.. here with me." Is the story of adoption.. all of them! So, if you're wondering what to take to an adoption celebration, you can join me, an adoptive mom, and wrap this book up for them to read together.

*warning: I'm sort of sappy. But if you want the short version: Just buy it. It's sweet.*

So, I'm 22 years old. I don't have any kids. But I saw this book in a small shop in El Dorado Hills last Summer and I was completely taken by this book. I wanted to buy it right then and there, but my family started to leave the store and I felt a little rushed, so I took a photo of the cover and put the book back on the shelf.
Now, finally reaching the new year, I have a job again (because earlier I was focusing more on college). And I decided to finally buy the book... It arrived today. And I don't know why, but it makes me so darn happy that I have this. It's such a sweet book. Back in 2014, I had really bad depression and anxiety, I always felt like I didn't belong where I was. And I don't mean to get sappy, but this book touched me right away in that store. Even if it's "just a book," it was a very simple and sweet reminder that I belong where I am.
If I ever have kids, I'll read it to them. When I become a teacher, I'll read it to them.

(sorry if this review is a TMI, but if the people who worked on this book read this I just wanted to let them know that their creation is really amazing)

This book was VERY sweet, but the perspective seems only from Solo parenting. The information about the book should have said that. I think it's awkward reading: "You belong here with me.", when there is more than one parent. Would like it to see it say: "You belong here with us"; even for Solo parenting because the child will grow up realizing that there is more than one person in the world that cares about them.
Easy fix though...I will be reading it by changing the "me", to "us", when reading it to my grandchild. Again, VERY sweet book.

My daughter who is 7 has had this book for several years (we recently replaced it after a move) and she gets a different understanding as the years go by. She loves the comforting rhyming structure and the text is super sweet and affirming. Very comforting book through the text and tone- like a lullaby. Great for bed time cuddles and bedtime story time!
