I really like this book. The advice is presented in an easy to understand format with chapter highlights in case you want to go back and get the 'take-away' points again. We have a dietitian in the family and much of Mike's approach chimes in with stuff I've been party to for some time but having it all in one volume is great. The recipes are well thought out and this is now my go-to for food choices. Following Mike's advice has seen my weight drop from just over 90kgs to just under 80kgs since last December. While this might not seem a huge amount over a 10 month period, I feel confident that this new lifestyle will be sustainable and my new vigour will mean that I stay where I am.
I've had this book for quite a while now so have tried a lot of recipes and all have been fab and very tasty. My gf even asks me to make meals from the book all the time but the another great thing is the fact you can count your calories.
This is a great book for those who want to get out of the cycle of yo-yo/fad dieting and actually take the time to understand the mechanics of nutrition. There is a comprehensive introductory section around the science of diet and nutrition which is packed full of useful information. If you are looking to redefine your concept of nutrition and food intake this is great.
So far we have tried a handful of recipes and they have all been tasty and filling. Most of the recipes are reasonably basic, which is a good thing when trying to focus on the quality of nutrition and what your body needs to achieve a certain goal.
Love everything about this cookbook. Recipes are really straightforward and easy to follow. Not like other cookbooks where you have a nightmare getting hold of the majority of ingredients. Love the pancakes and the salmon recipe. About to make the pumpkin and pecan cookies for an easy snack to have in the car on the morning commute. The only thing that could possibly be improved would be more photos to show what the meals look like as I know that can put some people off if they're not experienced with cooking.
Exactly what I was looking for and more Great knowledge at the beginning without blowing my mind. Already made a shopping list for the week that doest require tones of different ingredients like some books.
I have bought this as a gift for my son what a fantastic easy to follow book! He is really pleased with having a guide to remaining healthy and getting to where he wants to be in such a easy to follow way!
