This book will have your mouth water. The recipies look good and taste good. I bought 3 books of America's test kitchen and they know what they're doing. I'm trying to eat more vegetarian and this book is a great introduction on how to make veggies more attractive and also on how to use a wide variety of grains/pastas etc. The book is well built including different chapters : salads, noodles, rice and grains, soups, etc. and a section at the end on how to pickle veggies, how to build your own bowl (I think?), how to make the sauces and such like informations. Very clearly written. *Info : Eating bowls doesn't make cooking much simpler (you'll see your fridge is going to be packed with a variety of jars (sauces, cut veggies, pickled veggies, etc.). There's a lot of separate ingredients to cut and prepare. The advantage is, once that's all prepared, you can thrown a bowl together rather quickly and if you keep a good stash, you can vary it daily. Anyway, I recommand!
America's Test Kitchen does it again. A fabulous book, full of great recipes & beautiful photographs. I especially liked the descriptions of what bowls you could make if you had THIS item in your pantry. What surprised me was that every recipe is made for 2 people. I know it's easy to double the required ingredients but I like leftovers . That barely registers as a negative so I give the book 5 stars.
The book, pictures and printing are all of excellent quality. The collection of recipes are easy and well explained with a good varitey. A good beginner's basic book with some exotic/new items here and there to add some excitement. Very handy selection of recipes so that everyone should be able to find at least a few to their liking plus if nothing else give everyone some ideas on how to create bowls to their own taste with enough guidance to be able to figure out some of the flavours of their favourite restaurant bowls.
Have made multiple recipes from this cookbook. I really enjoy that each recipe comes with variations to 1) kick it up a notch . 2) For extra crunch . 3) Add more greens . 4) Make it heartier . etc etc. Love the full page coloured illustrations. You won't be disappointed with this purchase!
Loved it It is a whole new way of thinking about food. I keep on reading the book A lot of the food suggestions are not available here yet, but wait till summer I’m surprised, I would have thought that Amazon would have a selection of “ bowls” to go with the book
I love this book. The recipes are clear and easy. The photos are beautiful. The best part is the section after the bowl recipes that show how to make the sauces, dressings, toppers and proteins used for the bowls. If you love eating bowls you will love this book.
