I look forward to every new Glynn Stewart book. My biggest complaint is that he has a life and doesn't churn out more books. I read this book in one sitting as I was that reluctant to put it down, I liked it that much. It's a good continuation and sets the scene for (I assume) the last book of this series. I think this is a great universe setting and I rate it up there in the space opera genre with my all time favorite David Weber. I was given a free digital copy for review in exchange for my review of this book. As I have always done I then purchased this book on release to support the author to write more books like this :)
I don't think that have read anyone other than Glynn Stewart for the last six books, I've been catching up on his other series. I started reading GS when I read The Terran Privateer and since then this series has been at the top of my favourites list. This book did not disappoint me. The story has pace, the length to allow development, good plot, good characters that I really like. This has to be my current favourite. I just hope that Glynn has at least another series in this universe.
This series keeps getting better. If you ignore the very large numbers of spacecraft in each story then this is brilliant. There are lots of twists and turns as the storyline unfolds. It is exciting, fast moving and has very good strong characters. I didn't find any fault in this book but then it's not easy to find fault with a well written novel.
Shield of Terra is the second book in the Duchy of Terra series. I am a big Glynn Stewart fan and look forward to his new books, Shield of Terra didn't disappoint and I really enjoyed it. Top book, good read, most recommended, although read Darkness Beyond first :-) Note: I received a free electronic copy in exchange for an unbiased review (but liked it enough to buy a copy anyway)
You are invited to read and become engrossed in the story. It is a very different matter to put us into the world of a future space fairing nations where we all look out for other species. I would like to invite you to read book 1 first as it sets out the baseline for book 2 and will make you look forward to the next installment.
I have followed this story from the start and can say quite honestly that this series has been superb great writing great characters and at times quite moving the author is on to a winner with this series I hope he continues it much further ...I cannot wait for the next installment ..very highly recommend but read the first three first .
Not sure Mr Stewart can write a bad book. Have read all his series and they are all compelling and entertaining. This continues the second story ark, characters come together nicely, some nice story turnarounds and unexpected endings. Looking forward to the next one.
