2.0 out of 5 starsA pro indian novel

A novel which serves nothing else than what the indian media and cinema did. This novel is not about kashmir and kashmiri's, it is for an indian reader. It is a representation of what the novelist is not a part of. I would better suggest the readers to read at least another novels as well by the kashmiri writers. There is a lot in this novel which hasn't been said about the people. The relation of the indian army and common people was always having a big gap which couldn't be seen anywhere her. Moreover, if writer would have been so sympethatic to kashmiris, then why has she used the common language of characters as Hindi/Urdu. It is not the language of common kashmiris, it is just used here to make an appeal to genaral public of india and the rest of the world. It is unfortunate that writers like these misguide the people about the reality of kashmir.
