There were many good articles in here but one or two were not to my taste being a little explicit about sexuality. I wrote the author with my comments. I had planned to give a copy to each of my sons because I really like the Simple Abundance books for women, but could not do so with these articles in the volume. I was disappointed and clearly am not the right audience for this work.
Sarah's books make for wonderful life companions. I have bought many for friends over the years. After being a fan of hers, I decided to read A Man's Journey to Simple Abundance, although I am a woman. I have purchased Simple Abundance and Something More for male friends because I felt there was much in them for men as well, so I figured the man's angle of this book would likewise have application for women, particularly those of us who are independent and have taken on male roles/careers. I was not disappointed. Each essay is deep and thought provoking. Sting's contribution on risk grabbed me by the throat, so to speak, bringing tears and inspiration to leave fear behind. THANK YOU, Sarah, for sharing these gifts with the world.
I will admit the bias that defines a MAN is that it he is a strait man,and that gay men are a sub division ,So I resist the broad assumed strokes that lack that awareness, even with this book I got that impression when I began reading it ,and no it was not due to internalized homophobia, just awareness. I got so much out of it that the bias did not matter,A few stories at the end i just passed over ,even though it seemed like listening to someone's own experience ,there was nothing in reading it that hit home for this reader.Try it for yourself,The book put me in a good place and opened me up to deeper insights.A great book for the journey .
