This is a very good book I ever read, the literature of this book is awesome. Author did a good research and applied in-depth intuition to write the book. This is a must buy for beginners and intermedia astrologer who are studying astrology like me.
The information is quite good and comprehensive though presented in a dry format. Bepin is considered as an authority in Vedic sciences, so his information is considered as being valid. What I find lacking is that he does not necessarily bother to explain the role of philosophy, karma and the planetary positions that are found, how one can surpass the negative position fruits and so on...
In his defense I suppose, this is just supposed to be a book on Astrology details about astrology basics, details on fruits of placements of various planets in varied signs and houses; which he provides. I think from a user's benefit perspective, it will be helpful to know that Astrology is not a means to feel blessed or cursed and feel helpless about changing either- BUT it is about using the details as a guiding method along with free-will and karmic clearing to bring about the desired life.
For me, as a novice of Vedic Astrology, this one was a bit heavy as a place to start my studies. With that said, Vedic astrology is an amazingly complex system...After reading Beneath a Vedic Sky, this one by Behari was a very helpful, natural next step. He does not write it for the Western mind and leaves out things that, as a Westerner, I didn't know. I have found that Beneath a Vedic Sky and this one have been very complimentary to each other.
