My experience
5.0 out of 5 starsDidn't the rating speak for itself?

It's dystopia and has likeable characters and is a befitting sequel to the first installation. I might be giving it 5 stars because I'm partial to dystopia but it was a great book.

Each chapter with its own Twist at the end keeps you hooked on, However not like the first one. Took me a while to build on imagination compared to first one.

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC read⚘

Where do I even start with this book?! Unlike the first part where watching the movies first had an impact on my reading experience this one still managed to give me goosebumps everytime during a significant or even a trivial scene. At first I thought 472 pages were a lot to describe the plot and that the story would be stretched a lot like the 1/3 part of the 1st book. But to my surprise it wasn't. I felt everything was perfectly paced. Even though almost the first half of the book describes everything happening BEFORE the main plot announcement somehow it still doesn't get boring. There are so many things happening, from Katniss's relationship with Gale, her mum, Haymitch, Peeta, President Snow, the wedding, uprisings in other districts, the problems faced by her own district that it's impossible to get bored.
🔸
I loveed how all the characters had something unique to offer to the plot and none of them carried a cliché personality. With that said I want to talk about Haymitch. I fell in love with him...more like a pitiful one. As you read you realize that all these nightmares Katniss and Peeta have been having since a year, Haymitch have been having them since 25 years but because of the way he deals with them (alcohol) nobody takes his personality that seriously. In the book they also describe the Games Haymitch had won. The 25th. A Quarter Quell. With double the amount of tributes. He's strong, he's focused, he's ambitious but the games overshadow it everytime with its horrors😢 If they ever made a movie or wrote a book about Haymitch's younger self. The one that won the games. I wouldn't be surprised if I instantly fall for him.

5.0 out of 5 stars An absolute page-turner!

Suzzanne Collins strikes again with this one! Such an amazing sequel! Again, I'm extremely happy with how fast the story runs and the author does not let you sit and rest or bore you with any unnecessary details. I flew by this book and it was an absolute page-turner.

The story picks up after Peeta and Katniss are victors of the 74th Hunger Games and now need to go on a Victor's Tour. They then learn how their words make huge difference to the lives of people from other districts and how Katniss' mockingjay is more than just her pin.

The thought and effort that went behind this book clearly shows and the character building is just mindblowing. I was amazed at how the author made President Snow's character to be so strong even though he has very few appearances in this book. And Cinna! Oh! My lovely Cinna! That interview with Caeser! One of the best scenes ❤️

Needless to say, I absolutely loved this book and this series is turning into one of my favorite series of all time. Can't wait to read the final book!

You will have to read it because you went through the first book. It meets my expectations, however to be true, I kept my expectations low.

There are a lot of chapters in the book where story repeats itself. It is kind of monotonous. The brings a twist, that will make you read third book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most definitely recommended to every one who like Dystopian Genre

Solid 4 stars and most definitely recommended to every one.

Not much to say except that I liked the second book in this series very much. Although, I admit that there was nothing new that author introduced in the dystopian side of the story( by which I was disappointed but I am willing to overlook it).

As like the first part, story is gripping and fast paced. You can't help but love Peeta again. There are Hunger games to entertain the Panem city and as well as you. You can't help to think and feel the same way Katniss does, trusting no one, scared, confused and angry, since you are in her head. I would have liked the story to much greater extent if we could have gotten the glimpses of Peeta's mind(his POV, like the Game of Throne's multiple characters POV), then this would have been pure gold. There were some deaths which did not make any sense to me at all( but its again overlooked).

I should warn if you don't have last part (book) of the series then you should not start this book. The ending of this part will keep you hanging in middle, you will die out anxiety before you can buy the last part.

Catching Fire, second book in The Hunger Games trilogy is compelling as first book if not more. It's thrilling, fast paced, action packed & pulse-pounding.

[Spoilers ahead]

The second book in the series starts off right where the first book had ended. After 74th hunger games, a rebellion has started in districts against the Capitol. In a special edition of 75th hunger games also called 'Quarter Quell' , Katniss & Peeta are once again put into the arena along with 23 other tributes. This book dwells deep into the character of Katniss Everdeen, the romance angle between her & another tribute from her district Peeta and her childhood friend, Gale. Unlike in the previous hunger games, Katniss has to save two lives with difficult opponents and more brutal challenges. This book also deals with relationships, interdependence and pride. The book is simple, easy to read and thrilling till the end. Watch out for the ending!!

[Spoilers end]

Similar to previous book, the print quality is good. Pages are of great quality & the font size is adequate & very spacious. This is book is definitely recommended to anyone who is interested in Young adult fiction.

I really loved the way author has written the story of Katnis. The whole world she has described with perfection. I jave 5 stars for the story for the characters and the flow. But only adverbs make sentences sound horrible...
