It's always refreshing to get groundbreaking insights backed up by long term, widespread research - goodness knows there's plenty of the opposite! Probably the tactics for on-line and speed dating won't be much changed by this book, but writers, journalists and thoughtful people generally may be - to the advantage of all of us.
Great book with solid rationale behind most positions taken. It can take a bit of a leap and risks oversimplification in some areas in my isolated opinion. Regardless of that, it's well worth a read and will have you second guessing your own syntax going forward.
I will say right up front, it won't be a book everyone would enjoy. I am a lover of words, so it appeals to me, but my husband thought it was rather tough sledding. I enjoyed the insight into people's minds and applying that knowledge to my teenagers! Haha!
