This isn't bad book, but it also isn't very good. On the positive side, there is a fair bit of vocabulary on a variety of topics. However, the exercises are very limited and cover only a fraction of the vocabulary. I wouldn't recommend buying this book.
The Practice Makes Perfect series is excellent. The French Vocabulary book, though, is not very good. As a practical matter, it is just lists and lists of words. Boring. Some of the other books, like Verb Tenses or Pronouns and Prepositions, integrate a varied vocabulary with their exercises. Much better way to learn new words, in my opinion.
