Love reading books about Egypt and enjoyed this story, easy to read, not too complicated. Like to read on the way to and from work so this was ideal, easy to catch up on the story without having to constantly look back, I keep the more complicated books to read at home. Would consider reading another book by this author

This might be a "kid's book", but like "Mystery of the Egyptian Scroll, Secret Agent Zet", I recommend this to anyone, of any age. You find yourself on the edge of your seat hoping Ramses prevails. His gift has been deemed unholy by the priests. Only his father, mother, and the farm manager believe in him and his gift. His journey is long, filled with challenges and danger.
There's enough history, details of Egyptian life, adventure and mystery to satisfy any reader. It could have been longer, but was complete as it was. I just hope there might be another book in the works.

Five stars for awesome characters! I totally fell in love with them, despite our cultural barrier, and found myself rooting for Ramses during the entire roller-coaster of a journey. The boy is born with a gift that no one can explain and everyone sees as a curse- except Ramses father and mother. After they die and his aunt takes over the farm, Ramses finds life getting harder and harder. His only hope of escaping a life of insignificance and abuse is to use his ability- but how can he if the whole world is out to get him?

I enjoyed this look at ancient Egypt and coming to know the Place of Truth that used to sit outside of the Valley of the Kings in ancient times. The plot was a little contrived, but it only slowed me down a bit. Never any doubt that I wouldn't finish this one. Definitely recommend for any one interested in ancient Egypt.

Quite well written and jogs along though not very believeably and a bit obvious. I did think that it was a book more aimed at children so perhaps that's to be expected. Historically accurate, well who knows perhaps bits but overall well......

Formatting not great on an iPad, some of the line spacing on some pages appears way too wide.

Like the God's that come to life in Ramses' magical paintings, the writing in this book brings ancient Egypt to life. So vivid I could touch, taste, smell and see ancient Egypt.
I want more time with these characters. Sequel please!
