How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

My son loves this book! Judith Kerr is a legend....I had this same book read to me as a child I read it to my daughter who's nineteen and now to my son who has Autism and is ten! A This is good book with a fantastic story beautifully written and always gets a giggle ..my son would love Tiger to come and drink all our water so he get out of his bath!!! This is the one book if my sons trying to convince me he doesn't know how to read he can't help himself he has to give in we have even sorted it with school that if he won't read anything else and reads this we can pop it in his reading diary!!!! There's also a set about the war times that's really good to as fits in when the kids do history at school ....there is also a little animated short film and of course we have that too thank goodness for out firestick 😊

3.0 out of 5 stars Lovely book, odd format in digital

The Kindle edition of this book is ‘2-up’ only, requiring all of its single pages to be read as pairs in ‘landscape mode’, presumably to accommodate the one or two double-page spreads. This means the text and art appear relatively small on the page. Neither can be enlarged for a better view. This makes the book a challenging read for anything smaller than a full-sized tablet. The book itself is one of the best children’s books ever written and deserves better in its digital edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ein Kinderbuchklassiker

Ebenfalls sehr empfehlenswert.

This story is delightful and captivating and wonderfully subversive. The thought police will have to cover their eyes and ears.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kids love this!

I bought this as it was it was familiar to me, thought perhaps I'd read it when I was young, when I showed my four year old she was very happy as she had read this at nursery and enjoyed it. Both of my daughter's loved the story and can recite it word for word, they laugh at it and it is a bit of a classic in our house. I don't remember the story and as an adult reading I don't quite understand why they love it so much but it is enjoyable

5.0 out of 5 stars Timeless favourite

This book was one of my favourites when young and so I am delighted to be able to share it with my daughter. I love the hint of whimsy in the illustrations coupled with the very matter of fact telling of the story.

My daughter has asked for this book every bedtime since we bought this book and it makes me happy that there is a point of similarity in our very different upbringings. The book does really make you realise how much Britain has changed in the past decades.

The formatting is great and easy to read both on my tablet and phone and the price is very fair for the joy it brings.
