This has been bought as a present for someone that watched Barefoot Contessa regularly on the TV, it has some great recipes and its laid out well. It was a bit of a pantomine with the order as it got lost in the post before turning up the same day as the re-order but praise should be given to Amazon customer services who handled the delivery problems efficiently
I love Ina's recipes but find this collection is not something I would ''work through'. I'm not enamoured but have tried a few and they've turned out fine. Delivery took a while but it eventually arrived undamaged and in good condition.
Ina Garten is easy to follow - just like her TV cookery series. The recipes are great - one just has to remember that the quantities are rather generous - so I tend to halve the amounts. It is also useful if you have measuring cups, as they do in the USA!
Book arrived within a couple of days, well packed and undamaged. The recipes are all very interesting and the couple I have tried have been very good. You do need to 'translate' some of the ingredients as this is an American cook book and measure in cups rather than ounces but this is not too difficult. Overall a good book.
What can I say "Ina Garten" certainly knows how to be a great housewife. She understands the kitchen is the heart of a home and she has some great tips she shares in this book.
