4.0 out of 5 starsSuperly crafted stories

Short stories is a difficult genre to write. You have the grab the attention in a very short time. And , yet, have soem king of closure or a twist. The range of different topics and societal strata covered in these stories is amazing. It needs incredible observational power and the ability to visualize the potential of a short story in each scenario, and Salil Desai has plenty of it. Would recommend it to everyone.

Good compilation of real life situations, flavoured with dark humours... 'cul de sac' is the best! Don't miss it. Enjoy reading!

‘Lost Libido and Other Gulp fiction’ wades through multiple short stories voicing the lives of several thousand people across the country, living the urban region. It is easy to relate to most stories since they are slice of life stories but single-mindedly sets out to dwell on the darker side of humans. It captures these very moments in the literary equivalent of a mouthful of flavor to be savored and easily consumed i.e gulp fiction.
