I love the illustrations in this. Both the baby and mummy look adorable (to my eyes!).
The theme of the book is good and the phrases are almost short enough that you can read a page before baby quickly flips to the next page.
The only disappointment is the rhyme scans awkwardly in a number of places, e.g. "and sings my favourite songs by far" to rhyme with car. Similarly, "she's really very kind to me, she even helps me do a wee" And do mummies dance around in their underwear in front of baby? Or did we need to mention it, anyway?!
Overally though, it's a lovely book, baby is keen on it (we have the board version to stop it being destroyed) and I love love love the pictures.
A lovely book that my wife and daughter still love. My daughter learnt the last word of every line due to the simple rhyming and its a pleasure to read. My only slight concern would be that this and the Daddy book confirm to gender stereotypes a little (Daddy works, mummy doesnt, mummy does the shopping and sings songs in the car, daddy plays on swings and rough and tumble, plus breaks the rules when mummy's not at home). But it's not a big deal.
