1.0 out of 5 stars could have been much better.......

The events that take place in this book are not looking realistic . The writer keeps repeating that an apartment is a place where u get to see weirdos &people who do illegal activities. that line's repetition could have been reduced. the boy acts too oversmart . the climax was much better. the writer could have added some spice to the story. he coud have made the events look more natural . the writer could have also added some personal feeings &thoughts of the hero.the story looks like an written account of something by a third person . the writer needs a lot of work to be done . the hero is too wierd and from my part he is Loony .the book can be read once or twice.

The story carried a childlike mystery that my little ones enjoyed. Though the story is fun for ages 9-12, I found RJ a bit on the Caillou side. He became annoying to me and probably in need of a spanking. The kid is nosy as all get-out! Who's business is it of yours what I carry in to my apartment building, regardless of the day? I know he needed something to get in to, but seriously? LOL

I found myself thinking of all the things RJ could have been doing, instead of getting his little buddy into odd situations, but all in all, the book was cute. RJ - Boy Detective #1 is part of an 8-book series; check them out.
I'm off to the next read!

Cheers!

Rebekah was talking with RJ. He was telling her, "The best part about living in a high-rise apartment building is all the suspicious people."
(RJ Boy Detective Series was born.). RJ is 12 years old and his father owns the high-rise. His best bud is Joey. When RJ and Joey came back from the park, they saw a man carrying a large crate. RJ felt he was trying to hide something. A new mystery was born. RJ=Detective. Joey=Helper. Mission=Find out what is in the crate.
Good Luck on solving this mystery

I liked this story and thought RJ was a very smart boy. My son and I read it together. My son felt there should've been more to the story, however.
