To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I was disappointed to find units of measurement and ingredients that I was unfamiliar with. I will have to have google handy or only use it for decorating ideas. It does have some nice decorating ideas though.
Cupcakes sounded delicious, but not for a quick fix. Where, pray tell, do I find a sachet of vanilla sugar? I could make my own, but how much, precisely,is half a sachet? And who among us actually owns a gram scale? More like old York than NY.
I would have liked this more if it had been published with imperial measurements, I'm going to have to drag the scale out every time I go to bake one of these. There are also a lot of ingredients that the everyday American is not going to be able to find in their local grocery store, which means a shopping trip to Amazon if I want to follow the recipe exactly. All in all this book is really not for the average American baker, the ideas are interesting but being able to actually make most of these is going to take more preparation than most of us have time for.
