3.0 out of 5 stars ...Not with a bang but a whimper
Reviewed in India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ on 11 January 2014
So, it was the last one. I was both looking forward to it and dreading saying goodbye to the Bridgertons.
It wasn't bad as I had been afraid it might be, with high expectations and all. Great plot and romance and the meet-cutes, all in place. Gregory Bridgerton though is not as well-defined as his brothers and he's right in suspecting that he isn't as heroic as they are. But towards the end, just as he is coming up to mark, Lucy, the wonderful tenacious Lucy, says to Lord Haselby, who has been established as NOT being interested in women, and from whom she herself has just escaped most fortunately, 'But do you still wish for a wife? Because I could help you find one, once I'm settled that is.'
A heroine I had rooted for and liked throughout the book suddenly changes and emerges as this cruel woman, who is happy to make another woman a victim of a loveless, sexless marriage. Why? It was a terrible betrayal. I wish it could be edited and got rid of, because it leaves such a bad taste in the mouth. The rest of the book pales in comparison to this huge let down. At least for me it did. Lucy Abernathy transformed in a space of minutes from heroine to antagonist. Not a way to remember the last Bridgerton book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cover of the book and inside of the book don't match

I had ordered this book as part of the whole Bridgerton series. Today I picked up to read this book, I found to my dismay that though the title says "On the way to the wedding", inside the book is"an offer from a gentleman".

Just received the book and it is in so bad quality, bindings are not good, pages are folded. Seems like it is a second hand book. So disappointed

4.0 out of 5 stars Will Gregory find love or heartache? Will Lucy find happiness in her arranged marriage?

On the Way to the Wedding by Julia Quinn is the last of the eight Bridgerton children's stories.

Will Gregory find love or heartache? Will Lucy find happiness in her arranged marriage?

Lady Lucinda Abernathy
Lady Lucinda or Lucy to her friends is beautiful, funny, outgoing, and not afraid to be herself if she would just give herself the chance to shine. How Lucy thinks of herself:

Lucy was, in almost every visible way, just a little bit less than Hermione. A little less blond. A little less slender. A little less tall. Her eyes were a little less vivid in color- bluish-gray, actually, quite attractive when compared with anyone other than Hermione, but that did her little good, as she never went anywhere without Hermoine.

Lucy was a little bit less. Or perhaps, if one wanted to put a nicer sheen on it, she was simply not quite.

I like Lucy, but she takes her duty and love for her family to the extreme. She should have spoken to her brother before agreeing to something she honestly didn't want to do. But alas, we wouldn't have our story then, would we?

Mr. Gregory Bridgerton
Gregory is the youngest Bridgerton son. He is separated from his brothers by three sisters. He is not the heir, but he is not without financial stability. Anthony takes care of his siblings. Gregory has been educated and is clothed like the gentleman he is, but he lacks ambition. He doesn't like to do anything without a purpose, and for now, his only goal is to find a wife and start a family.

My thoughts on Gregory, in the beginning, he comes across as a spoiled young man. He doesn't listen to his family and just likes to party. However, he indeed grows, but he needs Lucy's love to help him become a man. Is that the way it works? I don't know, but that is how it is for Gregory.

Kate Bridgerton
This is the first time that we have seen Kate in a while. She throws a house party at Bridgerton Hall in Kent, where Lucy and Gregory meet. Kate helps chaperone some of the young ladies, but as you know, there is always a scandal at a house party. However, Kate helps Gregory see that there is more to Lucy than he realizes. So, if it werenโ€™t for Kate, our heroine and hero may not have found each other.

Four Stars
I enjoyed this installment, but I found that Gregory is my least favorite Bridgerton. He seems to lack something that his brothers have; I couldn't quite nail it down. However, I was immediately on Lucy's side. My rating for On the Way to the Wedding by Julia Quinn is four stars. I do recommend this book and the series.

I hope you have time to check out the Bridgerton series on Netflix too.

Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed this review of On the Way to the Wedding by Julia Quinn.

Until the next time,
~Jen

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Spring Read!

I love the Bridgerton series! These books are perfect for a spring/summer read and since it is a series, it took me longer to get through (which is good!) I seriously love Quinnโ€™s writing and I cannot wait to see these books be adapted to have their own individual seasons. I also love the detail in these books- if you are a fan of the Netflix show, there are so many details that they miss out on that are right in these books.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Truth About Muppets!
Reviewed in Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ on 8 February 2000

Although it isn't stated, Meet the Feebles is clearly a spoof of the Muppet Show. It shows us all the REAL, UNCENSORED behind-the-scenes action from the show - like the panty-sniffing "Dennis" (a clone of the Muppet Gonzo), the "Oh dear, I seem to have got my head stuck up my rectum!" Indian contortionist, the Vietnam veteran junkie frog, and the gay dog stage manager. Add some wholesome family puppet sex scenes with Samantha the Pussy and Mr. Bletch the drug-dealing porno-filming walrus, and you've got some great entertainment for the whole family - provided your whole family is into perverted fun, that is!
Classic entertainment from the wicked brain of Peter Jackson.

I read most of this series whilst doing night feeds with my newborn. I needed a series of books which my sleep deprived brain could cope with - easy to digest and light hearted - these delivered just that a thoroughly enjoyable read.

It was good, but probably my least favorite of all of them. It definitely had a twist which was cool but still not my favorite.
