When I bought this I wasn't expecting too much other then a simple basic Lion Guard book. I found the quality to be really great though. You get lots of stickers of Kion, Kiara and other characters like the hyenas and others which is a cute bonus :) Also I found the pictures in the book to be deep in colour and really nice looking. The paper they used for the pages is very nice. The story also is a bit longer then I expected which is a good thing! but still a short enough length for a bed time story. Just the right length. Nice pictures and cute stickers. :) Good quality.
My 4 year old daughter recently discovered the Lion Guard show and this was her favorite episode, so she enjoys getting to read this. The story is about Kiara, Simba's daughter, who gets the privilege of being Queen while her parents are away, but in the end she learns that she's getting more than she bargained for. Her brother Kion thinks she's being big headed and she makes a mistake that could've cost her her life because she thought she knew better and ignored his advice. Luckily, Kion and his friends showed up to help her just in time! The story has a good message in it for kids that sometimes they think they know it all and in reality they should trust the advice of loved ones/ elders who have much more life experience. It led to a good conversation and life lesson for my daughter about that.
The illustrations are very colorful and look just like the cartoon. The included 2 sheets of stickers was a nice touch as well and the stickers were easy to peel off and high quality. Very cute book!
My 2 and 4 year old LOVE the LIon Guard and love books so this was an easy choice. The story is from one of the episodes it's nicely adapted for the book, not too long not too short, stickers are an added bonus. Lovely illustrations. We've read it every night since it arrived over a week ago. I am ordering another Lion Guard story to save my sanity as I now know this book off by heart.
Cute book. Good read. Glad they included Kiara. I was quite upset when Lion Guard came out on tv and it seemed like the erasure of Simba's first-born, princess Kiara. This book includes Kiara and even explains why her brother is the one who leads the Lion Guard. As a feminist, pleased.
