those, who love Middle Eastern food would appreciate this recipe book a lot. this is the second book ive ordered written by Yasmin Khan. with the First one - Zaitoiun iam in love forever. Recipes are all reliable and authentic.
I was very pleased with the book when it arrived. A beautifully photographed and bound object, but the recipes are bland. I bought all new spices to make the recipes so its not operator error, the dishes just don't pack the punch I was expecting. I've only made three chicken dishes so far so if I see an improvement I'll amend this review. So far Ottolenghi and Anjum Anand are much tastier.
This cookbook is the nicest cookbook I have ever seen. It is beautifully printed on excellent paper with incomparable illustrations. Having been to Persia, with my wife, on several occasions I have had a lot of experience of Persian cooking and of the various regional differences. What more can I say except go out and buy this book. You'll be amply rewarded and very proud of your new acquisition.
the recipes are well ordered by type of coures (main, starter etc). I am a confident cook, but a complete novice to persian cookery, and found this book informative and the recipes yummy. i love the rice dishes.
I love this book! Only let down was the state of it in the post. Scratched cover and bent and damaged edges. Would be too much of a pain to send back. Maybe Amazon need to look into their storage of the books in the warehouse.
This has become one of my go-to cookbooks. The recipes are delicious and the directions are well written and easy to follow, which is so important if you're new to Persian cooking. There's also a description of each dish as well as beautiful photos. Again, helpful if you've not made the dish before. Overall, a lovely cookbook. Great as a gift, too!
It's beautiful. Nearly every recipe has a picture. The extra 'tales' are nice to read. I've cooked my first meal from it, the chicken dish I choose was lovely; time consuming but easy. The Persian love cake I made for dessert - a really nice cake but I'll double up on rose water next time as I couldn't taste that flavour.
