The story deals with a beautiful and poor young girl marrying the politicians rebellious son and that's about it. Story ends in a cliffhanger where the reader is left to decide if it will ever be a happy ending. What captured me was the overall maturity and the development of all the characters , which entices me to read it often
Lovely language. Nice story about a woman who knows her mind, is independent and yet rooted in culture and love. Gives you a window into culture and traditions of the North Indian hills. Can read it multiple times and yet not get bored.
Shivani always have the affect on you with her stories. The stories will took away you in to magnificent world of memories. It give you the joy to relate your world with the storyline. Although the book is quiet dramatic and less realistic yet you like the glimpse of the thought writer wants to potray. Journey of Jaya gives you a sense of disparity in the Indian society. Socio political understanding has been strongly conveyed by the character.
