To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This is the sequel to Greenglass House, and as with the first one, it's filled with delightful characters in a wonderful setting. Milo is a wonderful main character, and many of the folks from the first novel make a return. And there's a new bunch of flakes that cause laughter and concern. Milo's parents are terrific. Caring, but with their own flaws. The mystery is good, too. Keeps you guessing. My only complaint is the storytelling by the various people. This method was used in the first novel, and I found it redundant, and not as cleverly handled as in the first. My boyfriend didn't agree. We're senior citizens and love Ms. Milford's writing. Look forward to a third in the series.
We LOVE this series! We are reunited with old friends and make new ones in Ghosts of Greenglass House. There are, of course, surprises around most corners at Greenglass House. We read this as a read aloud for our homeschool, the only reason we would stop at night is because someone had fallen asleep and we knew we'd be in trouble if we kept reading without them!
This is the second book of Greenglass House. Fun, light reading. Great for a snowy day or when you want to relax with a cup of coffee. I will wait for Kate to write anything else and purchase her work.
What’s wrong with this book? My kids love it and drove me crazy asking me to read it out loud to them! Which is a great problem to have. If you liked the first one, you will like this one. And it stays fairly interesting for an adult to read aloud, too.
