No one can leave this book with dry eyes
Reviewed in India on 5 July 2017
The trailer itself had made me curious and impatient for the book. I had goosebumps when i saw the trailer so it was quite obvious that i was more than thrilled and excited for the book.
The opening of the book itself is so powerful where the author leaves the message to his readers that it gives you a preview of what lies ahead . The author says that
“This book is dedicated to every child from a middle class family who had to quit on his dreams due to lack of money” and true to those powerful words, the entire book completely turns you inside out by the time you finish it and just as i say in my title of this review that no one can finish this book with a dry eye.
I had loved and adored the author’s first book but this was completely unexpected infact i am speechless as to what to say in my review because the book simply moves you and takes you into a zone where you no more know whether its real or still caught up in the world created for you by the author in his book “The one from the Stars”
The best part about the book is that it is not tied to any specific audience. each character and each instance of the book will resonate with everyone no matter what age or background they are from. Its one of those rare books that a child, teenager and parents can all read with the same intensity and still take back a lot of insight and perspective of one’s life. In fact i recommend that every child and parent should read this book. Perhaps a lot can be understood and changed and the book can be a good source for that.
The central character is perfectly crafted and holds the entire soul of the book. Narration is what carries this book to its ultimate destination. The language in its simple words say a lot of heavy things
For me there wasn’t a moment where i couldn’t see it happening or relating to real life or keep my eyes dry. Story of Vishesh is practically everybody’s story. The way the author intensifies and evoke such raw emotions using his characters, its just goes on to absorb you more into it.
You should pick the book if ever you had to give up on your dreams because you had a society to please. You have to pick this book if you love a good story about living life and facing one’s fears. You have to pick this book if you are looking for a book that can jostle you, harass and emotionally drain you yet leave you smiling. Be prepared because the book can be really intense. In short you could never close this book without getting your heart touched emotionally
