This story is all about Sammy, who is a billionaire and he travels the world to seek knowledge of life, manifest, hope, love, and every single thing.
While traveling around, He always carried a diary to note down, what he gained from every new journey.

On every journey he takes, he always thinks that do anything freely and happily and does not even fear anything. Whatever it may be, and however it may always give your best in every task you do in life.
One day, he meets Naina who is a writer and is having difficulty with writer's block. When she talks to him about her current situation. He gave her his diary and talked to her about his life journey, what are the odd ships he took.

There are many quotes in this book I liked. This book is a collection of amazing quotes that hit hard. while reading those quotes and his life journey, I come to know that, everyone has struggles and everyone has good & bad days. because of that we can't just sit and think about it. We need to move forward and try to solve those things in different means. Every word in the book is so connected with our daily life.

”I think somewhere along the line I have distracted myself with the wrong wants, desires, expectations, and aspirations. As though the more I want, the bigger the goal, the loftier the vision, the more trapped I feel today, sort of bound to that future which I may or may not like when I get there.”

What do you think about this, do you guys also feel like this? Think about things? Like the future, tomorrow what happens after solving problems and facing difficulties, like that? Sometimes we don't want to think those things right, but our mind directly leads to those thoughts.

"Every Decision holds potential consequences. Some you can see, you will discover"

"Life is set up that way, what rises falls, what falls rises, what comes forth, will soon retreat - that is a certainty"

From the beginning to the end, I'm traveling with the book, this is enjoyable to read. And, for me know many things that we need in our life. Each page in the book tells you a different and knowledgeable story.

"Adventure, I well know, is in the heart, not in the view."

Just for the start, my Dad is also the reason for I see goodness in every circumstance (atleast I try to, for most of the time) ✨

Now the book, I'm not into self helps at all, I guess now everybody knows that already but still. 🌝

I would not say this is a OG self help book as the author had tried to form a story around some specific lessons and I think that was to make the book interesting? Not sure, but if yes, THEY DID THE JOB. 😃

The book has 16 chapters. Each with a new topic and a new moral✨
The chapters are interconnected and yet not connected to each other. ✨

The main characters- Naina and Sammy.
Naina is an author who already has three books released and is working of the new release. ✨

Sammy is a billionaire, who loves to travel and owns 32 well established companies and he entered Naina's life as a life saver. 🌝
While traveling, he used to write about his learnings and experience in a diary which he always carries around with him. 📓

I guess everyone here knows about my obsession with quotes. This book had a lot of amazing and insightful quote which I LOVED and I guess that was the best part of this book for me💗

At the end, I would like to say that I had a good time reading this one. It didn't felt boring or less interesting at any point of time. It was a simple with a normal flow book. Nothing super exciting but not boring as well. I was able to read this one is about 3 days time as I had exam's going on but I think you can read in 1 day as well. ✨

Def try it!!

Have you ever met a stranger who has changed your life?
When I say "changed your life", it doesn't mean that he/she has done something extraordinary that changed your course of life. It's about the little things. Helping you when you are in distress or giving a little push that you've always looked for.

"The Wise man said" is also about such a stranger who has changed and inspired an author when she is not happy with her life.
Naina is the author of three books which have inspired and transformed the lives of her readers. She achieved the success that she always dreamt of. She has got name and fame but still, she is not happy with her current life. Then, she encounters an old man named Sammy. Sammy is a man who spends most of the days of his life travelling to different places without a penny in his pocket. He writes about all his experiences in a diary. When he comes to know about the author's situation, he leaves his diary with her. From here, the stories in this book are all about Sammy's experiences - the places that he visited, the people that he met and the lessons that he learnt.

All the stories succeed to teach valuable lessons to the readers. My favourites are “The man who gave too much” and “Where did the man go”. While I couldn't connect to a few stories as a few things mentioned seemed to be difficult to actually implement in real life for me. It is my personal experience. So, there is a possibility that you may feel connected to those stories. I wish that Naina's views, learnings and her journey of transforming her life are mentioned in further stories, not only limiting the character to the first few pages. However, there are insightful and thought-provoking lessons that you shouldn't miss.

I would recommend this book if you love reading self-help books or if you're a beginner and want to read short inspirational books, you can pick this one.

THE WISE MAN SAID
@priyakumar7272

Rating-4⭐

" I have learnt to understand that sometimes silence is a befitting answer..."

Plot:

Sammy is an 80 year old billionaire, who finds himself at the peak of his success built on a mountain of sacrifices. He decides to participate in a life he missed to live. Eleven months in a year he leaves behind his identity and money and allows his curiosity and his willingness to experience anything—death even, to take him on life changing adventures and experiences across the world. Loaded with wisdom, surprise, humor and an eagerness to embrace life, The Wise Man Said is a collection of twelve such adventures of Sammy, where his journey becomes his greatest achievement—a life well lived.

Review:

~ This novel is about self-discovery, self-belief, and much more.
It's also my first book by the author @priyakumar7272

~ The Wise Man Said by Priya Kumar is a book full of philosophical teachings told through a diary by an old man's travelogue.

~ Naina, the protagonist is an author who has encountered a writer's block. In between her desperate search for a story, she meets an old man who has travelled long and wide.

~ The book as a whole was truly intriguing, the way the author characterized protagonist and the man, along with the concept of diary adds significant value to it.

~ It helps and guides the readers to find a new way out when things go ups and downs. I definitely recommend this book to readers who wish to experience fiction with a dose of self-

A wise man is a story of an encounter between a girl named Naina who is in a hurry to complete the novel and Sammy, a wise man who is a billionaire and a travel enthusiast. Naina doesn’t know what to pen down as she is clueless. It's not that she is new in this industry rather she has written three books in her life but sometimes we get clueless and all that we search for is a push or a motivation at that moment.

In this atmosphere full of pressure and tension, Sammy turns out as an angel for her as he gave his diary to her which has twelve stories.
These tales have Sammy’s life journey and the lessons he learnt from his life.

Let's see what happens next in the story….
To know more you need to grab the book.

The author has done a fantastic job by writing such a motivational and powerful book. This is my fourth novel by the same author and trusts me she never disappoints me. The book having those twelve tales sounds very less but is extremely energetic. After ending the book, I reread those parts that I highlighted in this book because they are so motivating. And yes, I liked Sammy and his teachings mentioned in the book

It is a very thought-provoking book.

The writing style is very simple and the language used is easy to read and understand. Everything is beautiful in the book except a few learning which might be relatable to others but I wasn’t able to. It took me three days to end the book and I was very much satisfied after reading it.

Altogether it's a good read and highly recommended to those who are in search of a good help book or want some positive vibes.

Life is can be tricky, terrifying and very intense, all at the same time. But there is never a dull moment. It throws various emotions and situations one after the other that there is hardly any time to weep over mistakes or celebrate any success for too long. Among all these, the uncertainty or the anonymity of life is what keeps it interesting. can you ever guess what is going to happen the next minute? That's the interesting part. isn't it? But how we deal with our uncertain life is what makes us strong and determined to go on till the end.

The Wise Man said is yet another brilliant book by Priya Kumar. She is a master storyteller. Her books never disappoint, are never boring and always inspiring. Her characters are simple, highly relatable and realistic. Her style of narration is one of a kind and she keeps the language easy and effortless. her way of bringing fiction into self-help makes reading her books enjoyable.

This is the story of Naina, a writer who finds herself with writer's block and looking for her next inspiring story. bumping into Sammy, a billionaire gives her a picture of his life through his diary. This is a collection of 12 stories that speak volumes about living your life in the most satisfying and in the present.

The Wise Man said is a collection of twelve adventures done and lessons learnt by our old man Sammy. All adventures are separated from each other by their uniqueness. Every adventure (read chapter) ends with what Sammy learnt from it, some motivational quotes and a lot of post scripts (Really). It can also be said that providing some valuable quotes at the end of every chapter has become a signature style of Priya Kumar.Initially when conversation was going on between Naina and Sammy, it thought thaat the moment is not too far away when Sammy will take the story forward by giving his philosophy of life (Gyaan). But it was a catch.

What came further relaxed my senses like nothing else. It was so entertaining yet thought provoking that all my stress got depreciated. And this is not the first time happening to me while reading Priya's book, almost every book of her cast the same soothing effect to the soul. Perhaps it is one of the strongest reason why i always look forward to read her books. She has kept narration fast paced throughout the book. I liked how the book ended, it's heartwarming and heartwrenching at the same time (Does it make any sense?). The only thing which let me down is that i was unable to connect with some of the adventures (trust me! I tried a lot), perhaps the conditions were too hypothetical for me to accept. However, Positive points defeate negative ones by a huge margin.

Priya Kumar's books never fails to give positive energy/Vibes to the reader no matter how low one is feeling. They are like a ray of Hope and Hope is a beautiful thing. THE WISE MAN SAID is no exception

The Wise Man Said is about how a chance encounter can impact someone's life. The encounter between Naina, a writer who was being rushed to complete her novel and between Sammy, a travel enthusiast and The Wise Man. Naina gets her hands on Sammy's diary which has 12 tales from his journey and the lessons he learnt through them. Will a girl who has lost hope and is quite unsure of her future find her answers in a diary?

The book takes the reader along the path of self- discovery.

The writing, as seen in all Priya Kumar’s books, is simple and easy to understand. So, is the narration.

The storyline is well-crafted and wonderfully written. The analogies used in the story are quite impressive. The book is well paced.

The cover of the book is apt along with the structure of all the chapters. Each chapter is loaded with information.

IN A NUTSHELL
The Wise Man Said might help you find your path and assist you in self-discovery. After reading this book, you might feel inspired to take on a new journey within. All in all, this is the self-help book you need if you feel lost like our protagonist.

Recommend? YES. If you are a beginner or a reader looking for self-help, this is the book for you. You can also pick it up if you want to like reading stories with lessons packed in it.

"You have twenty-four hours, Naina. I want the story or I want the adavance back" was the line which made me to pick this book. Naina who is a bestselling author faces writer's block and feels completely lost. While she travels hoping to find a story, she meets Sammy who is almost 80 years old.

To her fascination he was oddly dressed he started talking to her pointing out "You look like a mess". Their conversation revolved around the fact "living life at present". He then leaves his diary for her to discover his journey and experiences.

This book is a self-help book which teaches one to live life at present and take their space and to take rest now and then.

It is all so simple and yet so effective.

One quote of Sammy that I consider as takeaway from the book is "When the body is suffering, it distracts you from rational and logical thinking. Exhaustion is not the space for creativity. Sickness is not the space for peace. Tiredness is not the space for love. What your body needs is rest".

I would suggest everyone who is going through tough phases to read this book. You will have definitely have some positive takeaway.

As we are all human, one way or the other, we lack confidence and feel lost at times. During that phase we actually need someone or something to keep us going. That’s when “MOTIVATION” plays a vital role. The major theme of the plot is encouraging and how to learn from experiences.
Naina is the lead character of the story, who is a writer and has already released three books. She is working on her next book and also received a final call from her editor regarding her draft completion.
Though her writing inspires people in different ways, she herself lacks happiness and self-confidence. Her book is filled with positivity and has a happy ending which has been a dream for her till now.
On her way, she meets a billionaire, Sammy, who is a life saver for her. After discussing with him for a while, she came to know that Sammy owns 32 companies and left all those things to live life in his own way for some days. He actually travelled around 12 places and wrote all his experiences in his diary.
While leaving, Sammy took the Naina scarf as a memory and left the diary for her. Did Naina be able to release her next book? Will the diary be useful for her? This is the rest of the plot.
Words which I took as inspiration from the book are, HOPE cannot be a person to rely on, it can just be air which pushes us in the direction though it is dark inside. At the end, we find light with confidence, motivation, and actual victory waiting ahead.
