Very useful product at a very realistic price

I took my first long holiday journey to mountains with Rooftop Car Carrier Bag, carrying my two large suitcases within it on my Car's roof. Initially, I was afraid and drove at slow speed. However, after some time, I gained confidence and accelerated my car to 100 and 120 kms/ hour speed on highways. We encountered heavy rains during the journey. The bag kept our suitcases completely safe from rains and dirt. The bag was found highly useful. Please note that I used anti-skip roof-top mat also (purchased separately) beneath this bag to hold this bag in place and to avoid damage to my car's roof top paint getting scratched due to movement of bag at high-speeds. Also, don't forget to tighten the bag's belts to your car's side-rails properly, Also check the tightness of the belts whenever you halt during the journey and re-tighten them if necessary. If the belts become loose, your bag can be damaged due to movement of the luggage during the drive.

I brought it for a travel plan for 5 days with my 8 members family in my scorpio. I am taking time to just drop my review after using this in my travel.
I had to go through different places with various climate changes where this product went through daunting Sun and heavy rains. I am impressed by the product and it is just value for money.
1. Product quality is too good material, Zip, Welcro and straps are durable
2. No way water could get inside the Amazon basic
3. Easy to use. Easily fits 5 medium sized suitcases or 6 to 8 duffle bags
4. It freed up lot of space within my SUV
5. Straps made it easy to wrap and unwrap the luggage on top with no hassles of tying with rope

Time taken for the first time packing was an hour for me. 2nd day we took 30 mins. And after that with a fair idea to organize things we packed and locked within 10mins.
Advice to use it with a luggage carrier on your SUV.

Excellent product. So much more convenient than tarpaulin+ropes+bungee cords. We did a 2000+ km drive on a Honda-BRV and it mostly didn't let us down.

Driving through light to moderate rain, contents were well protected and there was no dampness inside the bag. But during a particularly heavy spell, some water entered the bag, probably through the zippers, my inexperience also might be to blame. Thereafter, I was very careful to ensure that the flaps covering the zippers were properly folded down and velcroed.

Note: This bag must be placed on top of a roof carrier only (and not directly on the roof). Sheet metal of most car roofs will buckle under load.

I used this on a 3000 kms long road trip in April 2018 along the western coastline. We traveled from Pune - Goa - Malpe - Mangalore - Coorg - Wayanad - Coimbatore - Mysore - Bangalore - Hubli - Pune in Ertiga with a roof carrier and all the luggage (3 large bags, 1 90 ltrs rucksack, camping tents, sleeping bags) was in the carrier bag through the 13 days long trip.
The bag held snugly to the carrier, with ergonomically designed straps, no issue on that front with unexpected slipping or movement. It handled the weather extremities quite well. We drove through rain, thundershower, scorching sun, fog. Experienced no trouble at all.
[Edit] After eight months and two more trips (4k kms), my reliance of this wonderful bag is deepened and I highly recommend to those who have the wanderlust in them.
I have answered many questions pertaining to the use, summarized as below.
a) The bag can be used on any car with either roof rails or rack installed on it.
b) It is advisable to use a rack/carrier system. Do not place heavy loads directly on the car roof.
c) The straps are strong and the buckles hold hard. They can be cinch tightened so that undesirable slipping or
movement is restricted.
d) Whenever loading, try to load as flat as possible. The bag adds approximately 12-15 inches to your car, plus a
couple of additional inches of the rack/carrier system. Extra height may shift the center of gravity. So be careful.

Excellent product....came after a 2.7 Km drive from Kolkata- Nathula- Bhutan & back, through rain, fog, storm, snow & dust....but this cargo bag protected my two suitcases & a bag perfectly....a must buy if you are using a rooftop career.

I got this product in 1 day, thanks to speedy delivery.

I was looking for a waterproof cover/ tarpaulin but end up looking at this product. I was not sure about the quality when I was buying this product. I decided to compromise on it as I am getting for a good price. Due to my prior experience in bag material I was sure that at this price point I am not going to get a good product. But when I saw the product I was shocked at the quality. This is one of the top quality product you can get at this price.

Material: It has reinforced hybrid material to make sure it strong and at the same time waterproof.

Harness points: Best part is the Harness points on the top, they are heat joined against stitch joining. Against best choice for waterproofing.

Zipper: The selection zipper is again for waterproofing, often found in expensive all weather bag and jackets. Make sure that the flaps are closed and sealed by Velcros.

Just by looking at the bag I can guarantee that my stuffs will be safe during any weather conditions.

Works very well, fits safely on the car. 1 star deducted because the straps are too fiddly and flap around in the wind, beyond 80kph. The manufacturer could have easily built in a loop to prevent this issue.

Interestingly, the bag soaks up heat from the sun, keeping the car little cooler, during our summer drive to the Konkan coast in May.

Overall, a high quality product which does exactly what it promises.

I got this product of Amazon while I was searching for tarp to cover the baggage on the carrier. Why should you buy this product?

1. The material used to manufacture is all weather, waterproof and sturdy
2. The luggage remains protected and hidden as everything goes insider the bag
3. Saves the time to tie up the bags. The straps, which are thick, with clips are easy to mount on your car.
4. Saves space in your Car( esp if you are using 7 seater vehicles) as the luggage goes in the bag.

Totally worth the buy. Also the whole bag fits into the carry bag provided with it, so that you can shelf it when you don't use.
