I honestly can get over how good these books are! I think I've read everyone in the series and would happily read them all over again! If you're looking for a series to sink your teeth into and to help you forget all of your own problems, then you've definitely come to the right place! This is a classic story of falling for your brother's best friend how ever there's a twist, he's meant to be helping her find someone else, but what happens when he starts to get jealous...? I guessing you'll have to read and find out!
This story was pretty good but I am getting tired of the Thornton brothers being so overly protective of their sisters. It's really hard to understand, especially with the way their mother acts. They act like cavemen. Maybe that's supposed to be attractive but it really isn't. I did like the story lines in this series, the plots were different from the usual ones you find in these kind of romance series. I didn't expect the drama with Heath and the principal, I thought it would come from their phone exchanges (trying not to be a spoiler!) And another thing while I'm nitpicking--why does Harrison have medical school loans to pay back if his family is as filthy rich as the author leads us to believe? It doesn't fit.
I have enjoyed all the books in this series so far and only book 4 & 5 are the only two I have not read. This one was the worst of the books for me. I love the way Moreland writes her heroes but in this one Heath has a secret and keeps it from Jubilee through most of the story. Jubi and Heath have both wanted the other for years. Jubi fought leukemia twice and won and just found out she was accepted into a college in Seattle. She is excited and scared all at once. Living a very sheltered childhood for obvious reasons she also is surrounded by a very over protective family. Her mom Lisa is still meddling in her children's relationship in this book. So, for once Jubilee is taking charge of her life and with this spirit makes a list of men to relieve her of her virginity. It is a bucket list of sorts.
The main plot is that Heath fights his feelings for Jubi while trying to teach her how to attract men and fights with himself to keep his hands off her. He pushes her away because first he is afraid of ruining his friendship with Harrison. He is Jubi's older brother and is the H from book 1. I loved him in the Nearness of you but he is shown in another light here. One I did not like. I really couldn't understand with Harrison's low opinion of Heath why they were said to be such good friends. Second, the secret is out and once it was, while bad, caused me more trouble with the plot. It wasn't something that should have made it impossible to share with Jujubee. Knowing that rubbed me a bit but looking past that the two were cute.
I did, however, feel the leap of Heath's " it will never happen" attitude to whispering in Jubi's ear, " I'm going to make you come tonight until you beg me to stop" was disjointed. It was too abrupt in the fast actions. I loved seeing the past characters and will probably read book 5. It is about Heath's sister Rose and her love Seth and gives background to the secrets that fueled Heath's secret in this book. I think book 1 is still my favorite out all the books even though Harrison pi$$ed me off in this one I still loved him.
Heath and Jubi just didn't prove to me their strength when they couldn't get past their stubbornness with not wanting to talk and Heath refusing feelings and secrets. You know watching a person fight something as powerful as cancer is and beating it not once but twice really shows us how fragile life is. Neither character behaved like it could be their last and I felt that opportunity was missed and would have made a more believable and stronger plot to the story. Enjoy!
What a story!! Sometimes stories like these drive me crazy cause they are always afraid to tell each other how they feel. Heath has a lot to hide but it's always better to get it out in the open. Heath has been a family friend but in love with Jubilee for the seven years he's known her. He just figures he can't have her cause she's his best friend's little sister. Jubilee has been shelter her whole life cause she has beat Leukemia twice. She has been in love with Heath as long as she has known him! A standalone with an HEA and lots twists and turns your not expecting!
I was really excited to finally get the chance to read Heath and Jubilee’s story. Overall the story was enjoyable. The reason for the lower rating is that they kept harping on Jubilee’s two (2) boughts of childhood cancer. It kept dragging through almost each chapter. Combine that with the constant upbringing of Heath’s past; you practically felt like rolling your eyes as if to say not again. I do love the chemistry between the two, especially since it’s been obvious in a few of the preceding books. Also, I love how Heath takes his time with Jubilee, almost like a slow burn of anticipation. I would certainly recommend reading this story-just be prepared for the repetition.
It is the turn of the Thornton Family’s youngest, Jubilee, to find her way in the world and move on with her life after suffering two bouts of leukemia. This story of Jubilee and Heath is filled with humor, love, at times steamy, worry and above all the need for honesty. This book is a stand alone however you will enjoy it far more if you read the saga from book one. Fortunately I have read them all and enjoyed each and every story on its own merit and truly enjoyed her bringing in the characters from each book and intertwining them into the individual stories. Read the full synopsis by the author and then do yourself a favor and read this saga I am totally confident you will enjoy it as much as I have. Well worth 5 Stars!
Sweet, thrilling, sexy, engaging, heart warming and emotional romantic journey with a tragic past and hidden secrets.
Jubilee and Heath are just adorable opposites and so similar at the same time. She is innocent in most ways having been sick as a child her family has sheltered her from the outside world so afraid of losing her at any moment. At 25 she is in remission and has had enough of not being able to live her life on her terms. He is sexy, strong, charming and her older brothers best friend that sees her as a little sister. (or does he) He stumbles upon her list of things she wants to do and the whole world changes for the both of them, but will it last... Loved every heart pounding twist in this highly entertaining romantic adventure.
Jubilee has benn a sickly child most of her young life, now grown up she wants to spread her wings and fly. What better way than to make a ‘bucket’ list of all she wants to do, I.e. learn to flirt, kiss, lose her virginity, go skinny dipping. Heath a long time friend of Harrison and Caleb and local elementary school teacher fi ds this list and knows that he is the ONLY one to teach Jubilee. He has secretly wanted her for a long time. Of course there are people who want to keep them apart, mostly Jubilee’s brothers. Iris has written another great story. I highly recommend this book!
