Worst product ever.. Openly cheated us, I bought this on Jan 1st 2020, my daughter drawn only 1 page and pen was spoiled. Please find the pics I attached, I paid 388/- for this. If it is not a genuine product why amazon selling this.
I got this for my 4 year old on an 8 hour road trip to mix things up between his water wow, color wonder and iPad usage. They served the purpose alright, they held his attention for about 15minutes in between activities. But within those 15mins he had scribbled over most of the pages and hasn't played with it since. I figure I can probably bring it out for one more road trip/restaurant to finish the pages but there isn't much left to do and the pen seems to be running out already. The nice part of it is there is definitely no mess, and the pictures are cute.
I much prefer M&D Water Wow books, as those are re-usable. I think the Crayola Color Wonder sets are much better quality option for the "no mess travel coloring" use case. They're more expensive but the pens are better quality (you can pick the color you use more like a regular coloring book), the pictures are bigger, and you can pick various favorite Disney/cartoon characters. Check out the "Color Wonder Stow and Go Studio" for a starter kit of those (we got that, plus a few of the licensed character sheet sets and a set of pens).
My daughter was interested...for a minute. She explained later that 'all you do is color' and that didn't interest her. She can't choose colors or draw anything. She far preferred the scratch art doodle art book I got her, because she can be inventive and creative with it.
So I thought the product was just fine, but maybe for age three rather than older. Anyway, something to think about when ordering it.
We love the other "On the Go" products by Melissa and Doug - however, our 2-year-old daughter has a habit of pressing quite hard when she draws and it seemed to cause this particular pen to run out of ink very quickly. She only made it through a couple of pages before it got very faint and then stopped working entirely. The Water WOW product was a much better investment, in my view - she gets all the way through the book and then starts over from the beginning (something she loves to do). Although a great concept, I thought this one wasn't well executed overall.
I bought this for my 2 year old son thinking it was like the Water Wow products and it is not. This is very similar to the Crayola Wonder markers and color books.
Pros: No Mess as it doesn't write on anything other than the color book Convenient place to carry the marker so it doesn't get lost. Beautiful Bright pictures once colored Great for travel
Cons: When coloring it seems to go through to the other papers so it gets slightly colored. Marker has a cap that can be put in my son's mouth and lost easily Marker "case" is hard for him to open at 2 Pages are not reusable like the Water Wow pages
Overall I do really like this but I prefer the Water Wow.
Works great but I don't like the packaging. I wish there was a perforated edge at the top to remove the "Melissa and Doug On the Go" label. It's just not as convenient to carry with that extra piece on top. I ended up cutting it off with scissors. But, my daughter loves these books and it keeps her entertained when needed.
The colors are much more vibrant that some other versions/brands of these books. My problem is how quickly these markers dry out. My daughter can't even make it halfway through the book. I wish you could buy more markers separately because she really loves these books!
This is NOT a water pen like the paintbrush versions. I should have looked more closely. BUT no where did it worn that the blue permanent ink isn't washable. My son thought it was like the water brushes so he colored on everything.
I brought these for an airplane ride and my kids loved it. Problem is they both went through an entire book in just a few minutes, and colored every available white space. For the money, they didn't get a lot of use out of these.
