Great introduction for electric pressure cookers. A very thorough understanding of how the machine works. But the recipes leave me undecided. I was looking for normal regular food like baked beans and stuffed cabbage. Most of the recipes have too many different ingredients for my liking.
I ordered this cookbook along with her Comfortable Under Pressure. I had just bought a Cuisanart Power Pressure Cooker. I had a few recipes from my old Mirro Pressure Cooker but wanted more. I found some good recipes (sounded good) but I've only tried the Chuck Roast recipe so far. It was delicious. I found many of the recipes requiring a lot of ingredients and I like simpler, easier recipes. I found another cookbook called The Best Pressure Cooker Cookbook (500 recipes) to be better. There are no pictures with this cookbook but the ingredients are ones you'd have in your home.
Wonderfully diverse recipes, utilizing pressure cooker in the most unexpected ways. I made the blueberry lemon cheesecake and it was terrific. I have issues with cheesecake coming out too dry when baked in the oven (especially since I live at altitude) but this turned out wonderfully moist and dense, like cheesecake should be. Looking forward to trying other recipes in this volume.
This book is one of the better pressure cookbooks I've read. Recipes are fairly simple with ingredients that are readily available and steps are straightforward and well explained. The author helps you to understand the logic of pressure cooking as well as providing recipes that taste good!
