Well written and well reasoned, this sets a frightening scenario of TEOTWAWKI that is rather believable. The characters are well crafted and the action comes in all types of scenarios. If you like Zombie type novels, this is a must read.
superior zombie fiction, this is horror fiction at its best.it gives the reader a intelligent cause for the infection, characters come together nicely and you find yourself cheering them on in their bloody encounters, bought the next one straight away
Well, this isn't your normal zombie tale. Oh, sure, it's got your Spec Ops guy that lives as a recluse and saves the damsel in distress, it's got your crazy-nutcase preppers who just know it's all a conspiracy, and they're ready for it, and it's got your dashing Air Force hero who just happens to keep getting into horrible situations and then gets out of them. It's even got the secret team of scientists trying to investigate the zombie virus and what caused it.. But it's also got more than just that! It's got an alien device that may, or may not be responsible, and alien technology an "Elon Musk" stand-in is trying to use to send his craft into space. Not only that, but the science SOUNDS like it might actually be possible for it to happen. At the end of the first book, mankind has pretty much been turned. there are a few hold-outs here and there, but 90% of the world is now "Nombies" (They're not dead, they just wanna eat people!) I'm looking forward to hearing the continuing adventures of the intrepid band of characters as they look to survive.
Sci fi meets military action meets zombie horror as a bizarre microbe of possibly alien origin starts rewiring human brains en masse. Down and dirty survival and rip-tearing action. Actual characters and realistic conflict. Violence. Lots of violence. Recommended!
This is an excellent addition to the Action-Adventure/Zombie Apocalypse category of novel. I thoroughly enjoyed it, from start to finish.
Except for one or two minor homonym style typos (buy instead of by), the editing was very good. I really appreciate that in this era of semi-literate twittery and auto-correct buffoonery.
The characters are interesting and more believable than the usual cast of ZA novels, and unless you are some sort of military fan boy who will get your panties in a wad over some minor misuse of jargon, or mistaken use of ranks, you will also enjoy reading about them and their adventures and misadventures in a world that is quickly devolving into chaos.
The zombies are even a little more believable than the usual ZA hordes, in that they aren't actually walking dead, but only ravenous, mindless, charging cannibals. Fast, not dead yet, relentless carnivores. What's not to like?
I plan on purchasing and reading the next installment in this series of novels very soon. If you are fond of zombies, you will probably enjoy reading "A Time to Die", by Mark Wandrey.
