Great epilogue, good ending an nd quotes, hoped it to be longer. Tobias and Christina are the main focus, however I would have preferred s little more information on the others as well. All in all good ending to a great series
I heard most people hated this sigh a absolute passion but my only problem was it was too short. I think Christina and four would've been good for each other eventually, and I would've liked to hear more about how four mourned tris but I liked it, gave me the end of allegiant "feels". 💜 4+6forever
I saw a review referring to this as fan fiction and after reading thru the series twice then this a 3rd time unfortunately I agree. The bond between Four & Christina emerges out of shared pain and in real life a relationship stemming from shared pain would likely lead to something fierce, passionate and ultimately, combustible with a short fuse but not long lasting and joy filled. The pages describing them together seems to show someone who has made it thru Four's insurmountable walls and gained an easy, close friendship not the limence of young love or even the placid but rich nature of mature love. It just doesn't seem likely that this foundation would birth a healthy, lasting relationship like Four & Tris have achieved by the end of Allegiant, one where a person " chooses that person to love day after day & their partner does the same." Aside from the lack of a pre-existing chemistry Christina & Four don't really even have many scenes together until the end of the last book. Then her impassionate "speech" on his goodess seems to hint at long concealed crush. I actually thought it was far more likely Four would turn to Cara whom we see in increasingly frequent scenes together thruout both Insurgant & Allegiant that suggest a fledgling intimacy. On the plus it's nice to see where everyone else is now Joanna stronger, Shauna & Zeke healing each other tho I was half expecting either Caleb or Marcus to become drunks, Caleb weighted down by his grief & guilt, Marcus, from his new impotence & lack of personal power over others. I would have liked to hear more about all the final core group of charcters as they journey to where they are in "We Are Mended" and have more of a description of how the cityscape has changed now that they avoided "reset". Details on how Tris is seen after the Bureau "reset" is hinted at but never fully explained. No one, including Four, expresses any specific dismay over the fact that Tris's actions are ultimately responsible for saving not only the lives of the people of Chicago, her actions may change, better or save thousands of lives in the States. Yet, no one will know publically she contributes, what her role was, who she is historically aside from a few friends because she is a labeled "rebel" and while her friends went "zip-lining" to celebrate her life, it still seems to be an injustice to the strength & true definition of selflessness her character displays in this series. Rating D-, save your money and muse instead on your own ending for this series .
The story was all right. I loved the Divergent series. LOVED. I was so upset at the way it ended. So I was hopeful that this would help ease the disappointment with the ending. It did not. I felt the way things were "wrapped up" was rushed, and a Band-Aid to losing a limb. I think that I would have preferred the author to leave the ending be.
