It’s an awesome read for anyone who choose to master in Body language..(non-verbal communication). Patryk and Kasia Wezowski are truly incredible in the arena of body language and micro-expressions.. infact they are the Gurus in this field maybe across all continents. The relevance is across all cultures and can be applied across all areas of life- business, social or personal lives. Still going through the books, some of them can be used in many situations and don't require that much practice however others are more subtle. Will write a detailed review after complete reading

5.0 out of 5 stars Insightful and easy to use

I am very interested in body language and therefore don't miss a chance to read a book on the subject. The best part I liked about this book is the way every technique is summarised in a way which is easy to memorize. That way chances of a person practicing what they have learnt once they set the book aside is higher.
A good flow, and the language is simple and easy to follow. I must say the examples are powerful. Good illustrations too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Value - So Much Practical Information for a Great Price!

This book is amazing! It's a great balance between practical, actionable knowledge about body language and micro expressions, and the science and academic background to help round out that knowledge.

A little about why I picked up this book: I got interested in learning more about micro expressions after watching the TV series Lie to Me. I looked at the courses from Paul Ekman – the psychologist that inspired the series – but didn't want to pay that much money right now. Looking at other companies that offered similar training, I found the Wezowskis and this book. It seemed like a reasonable amount of money to spend to dip my toes into this subject while also including info on body language which is a great bonus.

I think this book is exactly what I needed. Starting with learning about body language is awesome because it's easier to see for a beginner like me. After studying that and trying to practice intentionally interpreting it in everyday situations, I think I'll be ready to start trying to notice the much more subtle micro expressions. And that's exactly how the book is structured – body language, then micro expressions! There are also some really nice examples at the end of the book to try reading real-life situations.

I'm also impressed with the scholarship of the book. It has an extensive bibliography and many citations throughout the text if you're interested in seeing the studies about body language and micro expressions. However, the text never feels dry, lengthy, or superfluous – every expression is discussed in enough detail without going into unnecessary detail or using overly academic language.

Finally, just to show you I'm not biased, I'll mention the only flaw I've found in the book: the hand-drawn illustrations. Not all of them, mind you; most of them are really good and reduce distractions that might have existed if photographs had been used. However, there are a few that aren't as crisp and professional-looking as the others. That being said, they do all still draw your attention to the right things: the face, or hands, or body as applicable so after you get used to them, they won't detract from your understanding and learning.

This book is definitely worth the price. If you're interested in starting to intentionally learn about body language and micro expressions, I don't think you can go wrong with this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A practical book on body language
Reviewed in France 🇫🇷 on 25 July 2018

A no-nonsense book on body language. The tone is engaging and easy to read, and full of information at the same time.

There are many books on body language, and this one is a nice addition, because it is not solely a catalog of body language positions, it aims to be a practical book on the most useful and clear body language signals one can encounter in everyday life (especially in business life). As such, it is not an exhaustive review of each and every position and gesture one can find --only the most clear and frequent signals are discussed. That makes it easier to concentrate on what is most important, and despite the number of signals included, it is not overwhelming.

What I liked about this book:

At the beginning of each chapter, there is a short bullet-points list to explain what we will learn, and at the end of each chapter, there is a very useful summary to memorize what has just been said. These small details make the book easier (for me at least) to apply, not just to read (which is the point with such a book after all, isn't it?).

The chapters on Facial Expressions, Microexpressions and Decisionmaking are especially useful. I liked also the section on how to react to negative body language.

At the end of the book, there is a chapter with exercices to test yourself, wich is a nice way to begin practicing!

4.0 out of 5 stars IT IS WELL PLANNED TO THE NEW NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION READER

I did just finish the book so i have a fresh opinion about it.
First of all, it is very well estructured. I like how visible are behind this order to refer to the different parts of the body and considerations that , there is a bast and studied bases of knowledge and comprehetion in the mind of the autors.
Second, it is an easy lecture. It is obvious the domine of autors on the question in matter. It is clearly understandable. Even a kid with a little approaching on the topic can read this.
On the hand of my freedom to critizicing this book, yes, it is to basic. As it is mentioned, you wont have profund data, this is filtered by bussiness situations and it's variables (this make it very simple as it is avoiding profund issues like emotional, psicological, behavioral or evolutive info, etc. and examination). However, if you are looking to some fast track to non verbal communication, this is a main option. At last, I think too that, there are to much simple explainations. There are some specific info that can be "1 sentence explained" and, maybe to make the book lengther, they use 1 or 2 pages on a different subtitle. It is a little tedious about it the separation between themes that can be explained as a whole.
In conclution, this is the kind of book that someone that doesnt know anything about BL needs. It is a well acompained traveling on the discovering of this awesome cience.
