This is my first cam and I'm really satisfied! No extra lens, no extra money for additional lens, handy device, easy to learn and execute. I felt, its worth the investment. For additional stability when in zoom, tripod is advised.
Good thing is that its picture quality is better. but camera shakes a lot when u zoom in and make sit impossible to take videos without tripod...Panasonic fz80 is better in stabilisation and taking videos at full zoom. Also lacks touch screen lcd.
I have read some disappointing reviews from buyers , the camera is meant for daylight photography. Keep the ISO low at 100 for daylight, for long zoom shot put the cam on tripod or firm place . I think this camera is capable of great picture quality with nice sharpness and color.
What a disappointment this camera is. Was so looking forward to having this camera and not having to carry around all my telephoto lens'......Beware and read all the Reviews especially on Amazon. Com before you purchase this! Pros... Lightweight Cons Poor quality photos, ( it didn't matter if it was on a tripod, zoomed in or not, or in great lighting) the Pictures did not have a crispy quality to them. My cell phone took better pictures then this camera! Very difficult to use as in trying to figure out how to change your aperture , iso, shutter speed, manual focus, All the information is digitally internal and it almost takes a rocket scientist to figure it all out. You can buy a cheat guide that is huge as the Manuel doesn't cover it all. This company will charge your a RESTOCKING FEE if you return the camera! If you do return your camera, ensure you take pictures (with your cell phone) of the camera when you are shipping it off as this company tried to blame me for shipping a damaged camera to them and would only give me 60% of my money back!!! Thank god for Amazons A-Z guarantee... I will NEVER deal with this company again! Save your money and go to a Camera store to know exactly what you are getting for your money!
There are a lot of bad reviews on this camera...but they are more than likely from people that have not bothered to go into the menu and really change the settings. You really do need to do this. The ISO is set on 800 (at least it was on my camera)...which will lead to the grainy-ness for sure. Also, since many say this camera is not good in low light...turning the ISO down as well as turning the brightness up a notch is necessary.
I bought this camera to replace my ailing SX20 Powershot and this is exactly what I was hoping for, the landscapes are sharp and the zoom is insane. Indoor shot of my stitching have much better unedited colour than my old camera which was an unexpected bonus. I haven't tested the timed exposure for waterfall shots (my favorite shooting environment) yet, but given how everything else works I'm not anticipating any problems. The only mild complaint is the wi-fi download speed, it is slower that I would like, but not horrible.
I absolutely love this camera. The zoom is incredible and the macro is great. I wish it had manual focus, it’s possible that it does and I haven’t figured it out yet. I’m still learning, I’ve gone from a point and shoot to something more beefy.
