4.0 out of 5 starsMismatched - Really?
Reviewed in India 🇮🇳 on 19 October 2019
Mismatched - the second one after the Hasty Hookup and it takes the story in a different tangent altogether...
most of the book is centered on the sweet love story of Ojas and Gina and the twists and turns their sweet story takes.
Mostly keeping the hostel life of all girls institute as the backdrop the writer has built up a nice fuzzy story around it.
waiting for the next book to find the conclusion....

3.0 out of 5 starsMeh. A case of it’s not you, it’s me.

Might appeal well to the ‘desi’ readers since it’s thought of and written in Hinglish. I couldn’t connect with the writing or to the matter with the characters. I guess I’m used to stories that have more depth and written in the modern lingo. But since the storyline reminded me heavily of Reese Witherspoon’s movie ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ and the series name is the same as Lisa Keypas’s ‘Wallflower Series’ I was curious and picked it up. Oh well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Emotionally tiring and mentally draining

I disliked the previous book 'A hasty hook up' but seeing good reviews for this one, I took the plunge and purchased it.
Sometimes we read romantic novels sheerly for the unrealistic feel good factor. But this one made me feel depressed.
Yes it does convey a very strong message of not to jump into a marriage impulsively. But the characters are so immature that you feel like clunking their heads all together. I might buy the last book in the series, just to see how these characters end up.
The author's romance plot is kind of predictable - man meets woman, both are carnally attracted, both are fluff headed and egoistic, get laid, break up over a silly misunderstanding that could be sorted by a mature discussion and finally end up together.
Gina-Ojas beat Sneha-Nikhil in the drama component. It feels like old wine in different shaped and coloured bottles.
