To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Lovely photographs in this book but in terms of being useful I didn’t find anything of help. Some of the cupboards shown are almost the size of my bedrooms and the amount of items stored is verging on ridiculous. Advice like store all your grapefruit scented toiletries together just made me sigh! If you’re looking for decluttering advice I feel this is one to avoid.
As far as pretty pictures and famous houses, sure, lots of them. As far as organizational tips, there's one: "buy bins, preferably our brand, and use them". There are much better decluttering/organising books out there, I'm really glad I got the kindle instead of the hardcover. Don't waste your money. Follow them on Instagram though, cause they're a laugh and a half
The ladies are delightful. The book is beautiful, filled with styled, colourful pictures of huge closets with never ending space and uniform items in expensive containers. So far from the way real people live. I mean who really is going to take all their fresh produce out of the containers you buy them in and put them in different containers? Who has time for that? Most of us are in a mess because we don't really have enough space for our stuff so we need clever storage ideas and proper systems in place to help keep things organised. As per other reviewers, there are much better books out there for us average Joes who don't have money to burn and just want good, practical, workable, simple advice.
As someone who's always been messy but organised, now I'm heading to my mid-30s, I just want to have a beautifully organised home (that's easy to maintain with a husband, pre-schoooler, cat and dog). I follow THE on Instagram for the inspirational shots (and funny Stories) and this book is so on brand it hurts. Beautifully set out, just the right amount of advice upfront to give you the push you need, and then pages after pages of stunningly organised spaces that make you want to go out and spend all your money on clear canisters and boxes before ROYGBIVing your entire life. Buy this book. For yourself. For your friends. For the incredibly disorganised people you live with. For your under- (and over) 5s (it's never to early to start, right, Clea and Joanna?!). For your enemies. Buy a copy. Buy lots of copies!
Liked this book , actually made sense and managed to read it all without giving up half way because it was full of rubbish - no pun intended 😁. Would recommend to anyone wanting to have a fresh start and tidy .
I just love this book. It has made me want to clear out every single cluttered space in my house. Lots of ideas and tips for how to maximise storage. The book has lots of photos so good to see the ideas put into practice. Useful resources at the back of the back and came with some free labels.
I bought this on a Kindle special offer for £1, curious at the mixed reviews. One or two pictures did stimulate me to think about how I could bring more order into my home, but the authors just endlessly repeat the same simple formula everywhere, and I find the result both boring and souless - the opposite of imaginative. I couldn't live in their home, even if I had the vast wealth needed for that degree of space in England. For £1 it may be worth a look, but unless you buy into their "do the same thing absolutely everywhere" with mechanical repetition, there must be better books out there.
Bought the book after being a long term follower on Instagram. I love TheHomeEdit they are so down to Earth and funny. I learned so much from this book that I will be implementing in to my every day life and I look forward to reading the next one!
