WARNING: "I LOVE EVERYTHING THAT RYAN T. HIGGINS WRITES!"
I own all of the Mother Bruce Series books; this is yet another masterpiece. I would actually buy these sight unseen - oh wait, I actually did; Mr. Higgins did not disappoint! All of my favorite woodland creatures are here - and some new ones. The subtle clues/hints are fun to discover; so, read the front inside covers, the back inside covers, the outside covers under the paper cover - there's fun everywhere! Mother Bruce is so long suffering and loving - even though he doesn't know it!
This is my PreKindergarten class’ favorite book. They ask for it every day. It arrived the day before Hurricane Dorian hit the N.C. coast and I had a chance to read it to them right before we had two hurricane days off from school. Our favorite lines in the book were when everyone was huddled in Bruce’s house and the tree fell on the house but Everyone was ok. My children smile at that part every single time.
Bruce is fun for both adults and kids, which makes it enjoyable to read and reread. The graphics are clean and easily understood, and augment the story. These books are funny in story line and imagery. I’m glad stories are being published frequently!
My daughter is a huge fan of the Bruce books, and we couldn't wait for this one to come out. It's a great story, shows working together and keeping one another safe. I love the sarcastic bent that Bruce has, as it keeps me entertained as well. Can't wait for the next book in the Bruce series.
The series just gets better and better. While the intended audience grows older and advances to chapter books, I can’t see to stop preordering the next Mother Bruce title. We get to know soggy hollow and its endearing dwellers a little better better in this book!
Started reading this series with .y Kindergarten kiddo last year from her school library trips. I ordered the books from here and it's a great memory and read with my now 1st grader. We love the Bruce series. She brags about these books to her family haha and we even create our own versions of the stories
