Not the best by this author but an engrossing read. The plot thickens and moves forward through the actions of the various characters. One interesting detail about this book is that there's no clear main character. That the novel works despite this speaks volumes for the author's skill.
Over the last 18 months, ever since I discovered Andaleeb Wajid & her delightful style of writing, I've become a big fan. Her prolific writing style, how she easily moves from one genre to the other, from one medium to the other is absolutely incredulous, but more so because in each style of writing she recognizes her audience & the words she writes cater to them accordingly.
My Sister's Wedding is a sequel to her novel My Brother's Wedding & dare I say it, racier & more exciting. The idea of forbidden love has been explored beautifully, in the style that is all her own, yet distinct from her printed books. The story is connected to the original, but stands alone on good stead too. The young love & confusion of Saba - Shahid, the feelings of confusion between Rabia - Rafiq & the mystery that is a part of the story - all wonderfully woven together in the backdrop of a good ole Indian wedding.
If you're looking for a romantic, easy-breezy read to settle in with a warm cup of hot chocolate as it gets colder outside, go for "My Sister's Wedding."
My sister's wedding is a delight to read! I've always enjoyed reading Andaleeb's books - she is such a prolific writer who brings the Indian way of thinking so well into her stories. It is almost as if you are in the story yourself! Her style is so easy to read and I think her interpretation of romance is so much better than all the current / modern M&Bs. And this book - My sister's wedding is so distinct in its story line - who would have though of eloping when your wedding is days away - Brilliant twist! I absolutely loved this book and personally think this is one of her best! A must read for anyone who likes good writing, brilliant twists and rightly timed humour!
What's better than a book that delights you? IT'S SEQUEL THAT GOES A STEP FURTHER! My Sister's Wedding can be read as a stand alone as well, but to those who have read My Brother's Wedding it's like getting a front row seat to the drama unfolding in the lives of your favourite characters. A fun read that has all the shenanigans of an Indian Wedding and more.
A sequel to"My Brother's Wedding" this book takes Saba's story further. Like it's prequel the book keeps you entertained. The best part about the book is how real it is. The everyday misunderstandings and events can form a basis of a very good novel
