Luk if uh wnt to read as gaining logics behnind vedic nd puranic story nd hindu culture its gud but srryy to say devdutt approach towrds connecting it with mordern finance nd business is too narrow m really vry sryy i rated 3stars coz i lykd the book nd evrythng even. All logic bt connect them towrds mordern world with ur approache i found devdutt lagging behind in this aspect which is totally fine totally fine.
Devdutt Pattnaik has explained the basic concepts of economics in line with the Vedas and Puranas. This books gives the real understanding of the Vedas. It helps the reader understand the real meaning of our customs and rituals which has been metaphorically expressed in Hindu scriptures.
I started follow devdutt after his program on epic channel. From that time i started to read his books. I like the way he used mythological stories and events to explain financial concept. Even i heard many of such stories in childhood but never know that I can learn you personal finance.
The way the message is conveyed through illustrations is astounding. The narration of the book is crisp and interesting keeping the reader hooked throughout. It's a quick read with some interesting stories.
"I give what I have, to get what I want" How to become rich is another, yet a very different approach to the concept of BEING RICH, with the reflection of what it is to be rich. Devdutt Pattnaik has written a lot about mythology and their relation with several subjects, like FAith, Yoga, Leadership. With every book there something new to relate with, and this makes it very exciting to read his books. There are stories of Goddess Lakshmi comes to us, basically making Rich. It is not only about the stories of Goddess Lakshmi or God of wealth distribution, Kubera but it also deals with several concepts that relate to the investment of money, how, when and where. The lack of money is also related to mismanagement, and failing to manage money at times of crisis, and when we hold an abundance of it. Money, or Lakshmi, never stays in one place for a long time. And when they leave, it becomes hell. I liked the idea of presenting the concept of getting Rich with connection to mythology, because Till now whatever I have read on this subject always focused on Business and money flow. Well, though in some parts, it sings the same song just in different rhythm. The connection and relativity make it a lot more fascinating to read. It is a short read and worthy, specifically if you are interested to read the verge of the Idea of Wealth and Purans, you should try it.
