What a great way to teach little ones how to start off playing the recorder! Readers can follow along in this beautifully-illustrated picture book as Lazlo and his new classmates are given recorders in their music lesson, and are taught to carefully play their first 2 notes. A lovely idea to get young musicians hooked.
This book is an absolute delight! The imagery is bright and colourful, and it is such a great way to teach the recorder to young children. A must for music teachers and parents who want their child to learn to play an instrument. With cute characters, I can see this as the beginning to a series of books.
This is a fabulous story to share with your little musicians! Little Lazlo is absolutely ADORABLE! and he tries so hard to make all the right sounds, and with practice he learns he can do it! Definately a must have book for music teachers and for little musicians everywhere!
I absolutely LOVED this book…so much that after reading the ebook version, I am buying the paperback!
The illustrations are absolutely fabulous and the story is award-winning…in my opinion. Not only does this book tackle how to play the recorder…notes and all…but it touches on a new school situation and making new friends. I also loved the little spider. He was such a nice touch among the lemurs. But you’ll have to get the book to see why. I am in love with this book, such a great find! I must have for every child!
Who didn't learn to play the recorder in elementary school? I did, and that was in the early sixties! Lazlo learned a great lesson that applies to any musical instrument but also to many other areas outside of music: don't give up because practice makes perfect!
