To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The only complaint we have re: the recipes, is that the Contessa tends to use a lot of items that aren't commonly found in a Toronto grocery store... which means having to shop at more specialty shops. That's probably more a knock against the crappy non-international food choices available in Toronto than it is against the recipes. My wife made two of them so far (after a week of receiving it for Christmas) - and yummy!
I have all of Ina Garten’s cookbooks and this new one does not disappoint. I have made the Rigatoni Lamb Ragu which was fantastic! I also made the Sausage, Onion & Peppers and I served it with the Celery Root & Cauliflower Purée. It made a lot, so 4 days later we were still eating it for leftovers, but didn’t care, as it tasted so good!! Looking forward to trying more from this book.
It is always easy to find her suggested ingredients in our local stores. her recipes are rich and full of flavoured appreciated by the family, It is my fourth books from Barefoot Contessa and this ones giving us more pleasant recipes to discover. Su.
SO happy to have this. Ina is a goddess. I have never had a bad recipe from any of her books. Just go a bit light on the salt until you taste it -- she is a little heavy handed with the salt shaker always.
I now have all of Barefoot Contessa Cook books. I use them on a daily basis. All Ina's cook books are unique. Once I discovered her latest cook book, I knew I would enjoy adding it to my collection. These books are inspiring and I choose one to read every morning while I relax with my coffee. I have favorite recipes to cook through out the year.
