I am very impressed with the book. The recipes look wonderful and I like books like this where you get a feeling for the area the recipes originate and stories of local people. Today I will make the baked kofte with aubergine and tomatoes as I have all the ingredients though I will use just beef mince as I don’t have any lamb mince. I am flexiterean so am pleased there are so many vegetable based recipes-I made the cauliflower fritters yesterday and they are even better cold than hot. The chopped salad is great too. I have the ingredients to make the chickpea and marrow or courgettes in yoghurt so I’ll make that today too as it looks good-the photos are really helpful as it helps in regards to unfamiliar recipes. Over all a fantastic book.
I’ve been waiting for this book for a long time now and it did not disappoint! What a tribute to Palestinian food and people! As a Palestinian cook I find most recipes to be fresh and creative yet with an authentic blueprint and packed with flavours of palestine. Plenty of vegetarian and healthy options also. It is a must have!
This book is full of the most inspiring photos and recipes that took me straight back to my time in Palestine. Well worth buying for the stories alone, but I’ve no doubt the recipes will be just as well thought through and delicious. Highly recommend.
If you don’t buy this book U will miss out on an amazing cooking , eating experience! Love it! Love it!! Written so well, beautiful pictures and each and every recipe is an experience to try out and cook. Thank U to both Sami and Tara... My kitchen and cooking pots are breathing again! W0W!.❤️
This book is really great. I am so so pleased with all the recipes contained within. There are loads of sharing ideas using lovely produce. Once you have the spices and main ingredients this book shows you how to create many many recipes for breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner. Not too many desserts but Im not a huge dessert person. Highly recommend. If you like Yotam Ottolenghi's recipe books you will love this because the two people who have written this book work with Yotam. Great as a gift for a budding chef.
Once again Tara and Sami come up with some gorgeous recipes. Congratulations on your first book together. Tara you are an aubergine addict, if there is such a thing? A total treat to be introduced to Palestinian food, thank you.
Food should bring people together, not devide them. This is a good book that's basically political throughout. There's no need for that at all. Let the food tell the story of the region. I don't want to keep it and don't even feel comfortable passing it on. Opportunity missed.
Beautiful cookbook, beautiful stories and photos. However, I have tried very hard to find a single recipe I would actually like to cook and I can't. Most are not very practical. Ingredients not readily available. Much much prefer Persiana.
Totally in love with this book and feeling really inspired to try every recipe! I have a new love for tahini and I’ve even got my kids trying out the recipes. There are some really interesting stories to this book as well that makes great reading. I feel the recipes are really achievable, the ingredients it turns out aren’t that hard to find and we would love to visit Palestine! I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait to get cooking some more!!
