Upon reading the book one is bound to think about his/her vulnerabilities and the way they have been tackling their insecurities. Chief Goggins with his callous mind and an eternal amount of perseverance has shown how the so called IMPOSSIBLE is made possible. Strength and success to such warriors.
Doubt I'll be an ultra runner anytime soon... but i see there are no excuses as to why I shouldn't be or do what I want to do .. what if...? Loved this book for many reasons but those are my reasons and those will now be my driving force and with the new tips and knowledge I have required or in many cases now have confirmed to me from reading this book, I will say it's most definitely worth the read .... thanks
First chapters really caught my attention, even recalled dark events in my own past. Then, something happened and I felt lost in military/athletic anecdotes, however interesting, didn't provide me some ground to capture the lesson and not leaving it in the air. Not sure if it is about me not understanding all. I give it 4 stars because it challenged me with technical vocabulary (the version I read was the clean one, so I did not find any cursing to complain about). Also, because of the message of stoicism and resilience in difficult times, especially when we are so used to being comfortable.
The human spirit is an amazing thing. David Higgins provides a readable case study in how no matter your circumstances you can achieve a lasting greatness that will stare back at you each morning in the mirror. When all the world says you can’t or won’t, Goggins provides an action plan that will help you achieve your aspirations and believe that what’s ahead is far greater than what lies behind.
