I follow Athisha’s social media for a long time and read his updates on his marathon experiences. When I heard of this book I bought and read this book. Everyone of us would have passed through these experiences, and I did have all these experiences. Slowly but steadily I started my running after many years. Thank you Athisha for all your motivational and self experienced /experimental sharing.
The book briefly analyzes the physiological, psychological, and social causes, beginning with why we cannot continue the regular exercises. The author has stated those in simple humorous writing with many important ideas as do's and don'ts. The advent of simple "self-improvement" books in Tamil that can help overcome such urban life crises is to be welcomed. The book is recommended to read, for such urban people.
It was 2010, I had appeared for Sub Inspector of Police Examination in Tamilnadu. I was 74kg with appropriate BMI but I lost the selection with 1.25 cut off mark. Since then, I could say that I lost interest in my healthy body. Started many unnecessary habits which includes drinking and junk foods. Have joined in a private employment around 2011. Life moves on.. Had a marriage and a kid after 6 years naturally with a luck but you know the BMI is on 33.4 without put nil concentration on my health. I heard so much advise but nothing turned to me towards a proper healthy plan. As Athisha mentioned, i start many practice in the interim but didn't continue anything for maximum three weeks. I lost the spark and i couldn't catch what went wrong. Due to this covid, i am being in my home for last 5 months and working from there.
To avoid unnecessary apprehension, i didn't try anything during this time but I know that I must reduce my weight and belly for my health and my family. I didn't have any clue like what to do and when to do. Luckily I am the follower of Athisha in FB for last 5 years. When this book came out, i didn't buy it immediately. I waited for sometime and ordered it today. I understand my issues and have fixed a goal for me now. If I happen to meet Athisha during next year beginning in Chennai. I have to be around 80kg. Please bless me Athisha Annan.
