To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I’m sorry folks, I’m done. I have read all the books up to this one. I am at 32% and nothing has happened, the author is done, with this series. It is so boring and I’ve become annoyed with the constant description of minor things like “he pointed, he turned, he sat and turned to his left.” If there is a next one I will not be buying it, I place my kindle down, turn on my side, I close my eyes, I stretch out, I fall asleep, exhausted with reading lots of words .
I have read, and enjoyed, all of the Space Rogues book and indeed enjoyed this one as well. However, it lost its final star because I felt that the early parts of the book read as though the author was looking for ways to take the main characters forward and then relied too much on introducing new secondary characters that seemed to exist only to provide a solution to a forthcoming challenge. I will certainly read the next instalment.
I will begin my review by ashamedly admitting I actually paid for this book. The Space Rogues series has always been lightweight, but the earlier books were fun and fine when one just needed a simple time-killing read. Now though, with book #8 we have a perfect example of what happens when limited writing talent runs headlong into an exhausted imagination. Throw in the author's desire to inject his political biases too, and the series has become utter rubbish. Don't waste your time or money on this book.
Not much going on in this new book of what used to be one of my favorite novels. Bland. Too much useless conversations between characters. I read 75% of this looking for some action and got really bored with it. Guess the author got late on his deadline and just threw it together. I won’t waste my money again unless the reviews are really good.
Wil and his gang of good guys does it again! This is a very good science-fiction tale with a lot of excitement aliens and the bad guys. As always there are plenty of jokes to go around, even during the most dire times. I highly recommend this book!
