This is a very sweet story for young kids that are about to learn counting from 1-10. They’ll relate well with Little Mouse, who is such an adorable character. Throughout the books, kids will meet various well-known animals (e.g., spiders, ants, birds, frogs, ducks…) that they can identify and count. Also, the ending will be a nice surprise. Overall, the story line is engaging, the rhymes flow very well, and the illustrations are marvellous. We can highly recommend this book.
This has got to be the best counting picture book I’ve read to date! With fun rhyming text, and fabulous illustrations, it’s definitely a book that older siblings won’t mind sharing with little ones who are learning to count. The story is also both sweet and uplifting, as you get to follow along as poor Little Mouse sets out looking for friends to play with him. Highly recommended.
I read this story over Facebook Portal today to our 3 year old granddaughter and she liked it very much. We used some plastic animals with a little mouse in a car for illustration. She liked when all the animals came back over to Little Mouse's house to play with him, and she enjoyed doing the counting from 10 to 1.
This story is colourful, lively and very well illustrated. I think ages 1 to 5 would be probably the best age for enjoyment of this delightful little book. Well-done author Jana Buchmann and illustrator, "Cheng".
