The book is true to it's title as it's scandalous journey. The author's writing style is very comforting and lucid. The way she has combined the previous characters and showed peculiar traits in each one of them makes it a very beautiful read. Each character has got a beautiful emotion attached to them. The storyline is beautiful. The narration was gripping. I read it in single sitting. Disha's article in the newspaper was so very emotional I love how the author adds perfect amount of emotions may it be making the reader shed tear or making one laugh with the quirky conversations. Vivaan is hell of an amazing person. Arjun is caring affection and loveable person, and Aarav is love my current book boyfriend for just everything. This book couldn't have got better.
What I loved about the Kapoor Brother series was how relatable the characters were. We all have a bit of Arav and Disha in us, struggling with our insecurities and hurts. You know Arav and Disha are flawed, they have a lot of issues to work out, yet you cannot help but root for them. The chemistry between Arav and Disha is sizzling, they feel the mandatory "tingle" for each other. ( If you have read the first two books you will realise how important the "tingles" are!) The book, as with other Kapoor brothers books, is funny. You are chuckling at the dialogues and the incidents. The pièce de résistance was the group WhatsApp conversation, it had me howling with laughter. Alisha-Vivaan, Suraj-Vihaana, make up the emotional backbone of Arav. The interactions between the Kapoor brothers and their better halves are funny, full of love, camaraderie and affection. This time Arav and Vivaan's mother makes a cameo and keeps the reader in splits! She reminded me of sassy sassuma ( of messy mama and sassy sassuma fame)! Author Shilpa Suraj has a magic touch when it comes to romances. She picks flawed characters, struggling with their issues and insecurities. With these characters, she spins a story which is funny, romantic and heartwarming. Her characters are endearingly familiar, you sympathize with them, commiserate with them, feel their pain and root for them. The characters do have rocks on the path of true love, but there are no unnecessary dramas to distract the reader from the main story. Shilpa Suraj makes you believe in love and happily ever afters.
When I started reading Aarav & Disha's story, it almost felt like I was a part of the Kapoor family. Having read the other 2 books in the series & loved the Alisha - Vivaan and Arjun - Vihaana love stories, I knew I could expect similar bonhomie, a warm, cozy vibe, rib tickling moments & those that made me cry.
But Shilpa managed to surprise me yet again with the depth that she has given to the lead characters in 'Love, Scandal and Second Chances' - Aarav and Disha. While she has had an abusive past that she dreads & struggles to break free from, he has always been comparing himself, in his head, to his apparently better looking & more successful brothers. How they manage to break the shackles of the past, come to terms with the present & plan a beautiful future for themselves is beautifully conveyed by Shilpa in this one.
The best part of the story, in my opinion, is that Disha needs no hand-holding. She is absolutely clear in her head as to what she has to do, has worked her way towards her goal & takes things in her own hands in more ways than one to dream of a life that she can live the way she wants. Sure, Aarav is a part of it, but more of a supporting role. He is not a knight in shining armor, but a strong supporter of her dream - one that he helps her achieve in his own capacity.
Also, in this day & age of dying relationships & familial values & the need to protect privacy, it's nice to see the connection between the different members of the Kapoor family & how they strongly stand up for each other, sometimes even placing relationships made from the heart above those of the so-called 'blood', mandatory ones. Quite a few scenes made me tear up completely, so just a quick word of advice to keep a handkerchief handy when you read this book. The scene between Aarav's mother & Disha, in particular, is beautifully written & you wish more women in the world were blessed with Mrs.Kapoor's wisdom!
All in all, a beautiful read.
I'm sad to see this series end, but excited at what Shilpa has planned ahead. If it's anything like the one with suave, sexy Kapoor brothers, I already know I am going to adore it!
Arav has been my favourite, the older sibling, the quieter one, the serious one and I really wanted to read his story and so picked the book up as soon as I realized that it had been released. The characters are well-developed, realistic and relatable as was with the other books in the series. We had met Disha in the second book and I had an inkling that Arav liked her. I loved the mature conversations between Arav and Disha and the easy camaraderie between the cousins. I would have enjoyed reading more conversations in the cousins’ WhatsApp group. The presence of characters from the previous books helps maintain the continuity in the series. I felt that I was right there sitting in the Kapoor house and witnessing everything unfold before me. I enjoyed reading the book and finished it in one sitting until three in the morning. I am really going to miss the Kapoors now that the series is over. Waiting to read more books from the author.
I was eagerly waiting for arav book. I love shilpa Suraj books and writing very much. It will be spot-on. No extra information or cutoff scene in it. The writing will be exact one required. The Kapoor brothers series is one of my favourite collection. The bond between the brothers were so good and whoever read will feel like living in their home and seeing the live conversation.
Arav was heartbroken in his college day by Disha who happens to re-enter his life. First I thought Disha is not good enough for arav but after reading the past of her my thought was changed. Disha deserve arav in her life and she of all people deserve an second chance. Disha life also shows of the life of some of the actress in the film and serial industry.
Arav is the "nice guy" no one can meet in day to day life. He has this so nice heart that forgive Disha and he helps her in her life to overcome the problem. Atlast arav is an happy man with Disha the "ice queen" said by Arjun.
It's happy to see Alisha and vivaan the "charmer". The bond between these brothers were awesome. Alisha bond towards arav was so good to see and when she says that " vivaan us a charmer😍😍😍, Arjun has looks😳😳😳😳 but arav you are 💓💓💓💓💓" was one of the best line in this book. Arav like the bubliness of vihana from the start and the in this book whenever he wanted to face some critical situation with family he remained Arjun to bring her with him for lighting the situation. Vihana is the light to all the people who come across her life even to Disha who immediately accepts in her life. When vihana tries to save arav from her cousin was so good and funny to read.
This Kapoor brother series has all emotions laugh, cry, sad, happy, angry, funny, everything. I like to read the another book in this series were the married life of them are shown. It's good to see all brothers happy 😊🙂🙂🙂 in their life. Shilpa write another book, I want to see the marriage of Arjun and arav. Read this trilogy you will enjoy especially love the cousins WhatsApp chat in their conversation🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
What a great end to the Kapoor brothers series ! Arav takes your heart away. Though it's really difficult to choose between the three brothers but, Arav beats Arjun on the "oh the perfect one" meter.. You can't help but feel the anguish and get annoyed at Disha for what she did in the past but knowing her truth kind of provides a closure.
Disha comes across as a complicated character, but essentially a good person bearing the brunt of bad cards life dealt her.
Overall, the story sucks you in, holds you tight in its grasp from the first chapter itself and ultimately ends at a high, fulfilling note ! And not to mention, leaves you with the feeling of incompleteness post finishing a real good book.
Couldn't have been a better love story for Arav and Disha!
Author Shilpa Suraj ends the series at a high note with the story of Arav and Disha, who get a second chance in love. The best part of the story is the characterization of the lead pair; the complexity of Disha's character and Arav's simplicity in handling her was a hit with me. Totally loved the chemistry between the two, and the hilarious banter between the brothers and their partners. I must say I would love to read a romantic comedy by Shilpa.
Arav and Disha's story is the sort that will keep you smiling as you read it. There are bittersweet moments here as you read about their past relationship and what went wrong but the present makes up for it substantially. Disha is an interesting character and even though we've seen her in the previous book, she comes across as more human and likeable here. Arav, like Alisha says to him, is all heart. Total heart melt. There are appearances from characters from the previous books as well and one of the best things I like about books in a series is how the fictional family becomes so real for you and it's like meeting long lost friends and relatives when you see them on the page! I'm waiting to see what Shilpa comes up with next!
i just finished reading Arav and Disha s story... its been a long time since i have actually enjoyed reading a book and this one book did make me feel bad when it ended... i have never laughed so much while reading a romantic book... I could actually feel what they were feeling.. laugh with them cry with them ... I wish they had more siblings and this story would continue further
As usual the author has kept me awake most of the night just so I could finish this book. But I am not complaining. The story of Disha and Arav will keep you hooked till the end. They share a complicated past. My heart goes out to Disha for bearing with a traumatic childhood or rather the lack of it. Arav is the quintessential Mr. NICE and is someone we all want in our lives as a friend, brother, son or lover. We also get to read about the other couples and rejoice the camaraderie they share. All in all this series is perfect.
