4.5 stars. Loved this book. It has a good pace. I really liked Imogen although what she did to him was kind of childish a part of me was saying he deserves it for the way Perry made her feel. But the story is really good. The way the fall for each other and what happens close the end... wow!
I am planning on continuing reading Sophie Jordan's books. This the first time I read one of her books and I wasn't dissapointed.
What I liked about this book? The story, the pace, that Imogen was not a damsel in distress, the steamy scenes and the HEA.

I quite enjoy Sophie Jordan's style of writing. She's an excellent writer, drawing you into the world she's created, drawing you along the strands of plot.

I found this book a little uncomfortable to read and came to realize that enemies-to-lovers plots are just not for me. The writing is so strong that I finished the book with optimism. If you like the trope, check this one out. If not, try one of the author's other books!

I’m very conflicted with this book, because I thought it was good it kept me entertained and it was a fun easy read that’s why I gave it 4 stars but I had a very big problem with the supposed heroine, in my point of view her actions towards the H were more of a villain than an h. She might have been good to everyone else but to him she was awful, I don’t believe that her excuse was a valid one, so when he was young he said something mean and hurt her feelings really is that a reason to try an ruin someone’s reputation? I don’t think so. I thought Perry was a much better Pearson than she was, so when he was a Duke he was top lofty well da ……. He was a good guy and to be able to forgive her and move on after what happened to him, well he certainly is a much better person than me 🤪😂😂 I recommend you read it and see what you think of her

I loved this story and the characters, Imogen and Perry. It is not your typical story of a duke. I actually somehow read book two and three first and knew I had to come back and read book one. This series is absolutely fantastic. So much so that I already know this is a series I will reread.

I read The Rake Gets Ravished first. This was a slower burn. I was slightly confused in the first chapter, took me a second to get that it was starting in flashback. The overall romantic arc is good. (Vague spoilers ahead) I did think the subplot with the beaten wife was a little cheap (it's just there to provide a hero moment) when the same thing could have been accomplished with the cousin visit. But ultimately a fun read. Ready for book 3!

I loved the enemies to lovers relationship between Imogen and Perry in this book. This was a fast, fun, low angst, steamy read. I liked the character growth of Perry, at first he’s not the most likeable but definitely grows on you. And by the end you are definitely rooting for Perry and Imogen. For her part, Imogen has her flaws (as everyone does), but you can tell she truly cares for her father and the people of her village.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun, steamy romance with lots of great banter.

A story of being on top only to fall to the bottom, from being a duke to being a illegitimate bastard. It took that happenstance to show him that he wasn't cut out to be a duke, didn't like having his life mapped out for him. He began to enjoy his freedom of choice and to fall in love with an unexpected person. I'm glad they found their HEA. I highly recommend this book! 👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤
