5.0 out of 5 starsThe Effortless path to achieving mastery & success!
Reviewed in India on 9 July 2021
I followed up reading Essentialism with Effortless: Make it easier to do what matters, both by Greg McKeown. The author has come up with yet another superhit of a book through Effortless. The key concept of the book is to breakdown executing tasks in an effortless manner by understanding what constitutes the "effortless state", how we can take "effortless action", and how we can guarantee "effortless results". Breaking up each of these buckets into simple, easy-to-understand sub-buckets filled with examples and historical anecdotes, Greg once again, proves himself to be the master storyteller

As with Essentialism, Greg displays great humility and vulnerability in sharing deep, personal experiences that will resonate with readers. He explains how tough & challenging situations can be substituted, with the right mindset & approach, with enjoyable & successful outcomes. Most importantly, Greg emphasizes time and again that achieving Effortless results does not equal taking shortcuts, rather a scientific approach to curbing distractions, focusing on efficiency & effectiveness, and a positive outlook to life's situations thrown at us. Greatly loved the read and look forward to another book by Greg

I would recommend reading these books in order and next to each other as the learning, retention, and application can be easily doubled by combining the practical aspects of Essentialism & Effortless action!

1.0 out of 5 starsVery Poor Quality paper
Reviewed in India on 12 May 2021
Product received damaged cover and paper quality very poor brownish and look & feels like poorly recycled tissue paper. Preordered this book and am left feeling very disappointed. The book itself, is an excellent one. The good part of this poor quality is that I can scribble notes on it without feeling bad.

Awesome book. It definitely has some lessons that will help you in life so much that you can't imagine. It's a must read along with the book essentialism. You can also read The one thing by Gary Keller.

5.0 out of 5 stars How to make the most essential things in life the most effortless things to do!
Reviewed in India on 4 May 2021
Book is written clearly and precisely. If Essentialism was about 'what to do', then Effortless is about 'how to do it'. Single most important lesson would be to learn to ask 'how can I make the most essential things in my life, the most effortless things to do'.
I had been eagerly waiting for a kind of sequel to Essentialism for years and Greg doesn't disappoint!

The book does justice to the topic it aims to cover. The contents relate well to each other and to the central theme.

5.0 out of 5 stars How to do more with less - More time, less effort

“Effortless” is the follow up to the excellent book “Essentialism” by Greg McKeown.

In a world where we are often overwhelmed, stressed and seem to rush from place to place, where we are expected to worship the “hustle culture”. In “Essentialism” Greg explains how you can do more, by doing less.

For example, have you ever been to a meeting that was a total waste of time, but somebody who didn’t go asks you, “so what happened?’ And you explain the meeting in 30 seconds. That person is an Essentialist.

In “Effortless” Greg carries on the same theme. I should point out, while this is “part 2” there is no duplication and in fact this is just a well researched. Each chapters has a moral to the story and Greg walks you through a metaphor, in his storytelling. The book is easy to read, with a shed load of “mike drop” moments.
