4.0 out of 5 starsEssentialism was Better - This is also Good

A bit dragged on some chapters. I wish everyone could write more dense books. On that note, I would like to mention Donald Miller - Both his books Story Brand and Marketing Made Simple - his entire style is just so easy to get through.

This book ia good - but if you haven't read Essentialism - go read that!

After reading the book 'Essentialism', i had lot of expectation from this book. Disappointed, routine stuff which we are aware. It reiterates some fundamentals which we usually forget.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Effortless path to achieving mastery & success!

I followed up reading Essentialism with Effortless: Make it easier to do what matters, both by Greg McKeown. The author has come up with yet another superhit of a book through Effortless. The key concept of the book is to breakdown executing tasks in an effortless manner by understanding what constitutes the "effortless state", how we can take "effortless action", and how we can guarantee "effortless results". Breaking up each of these buckets into simple, easy-to-understand sub-buckets filled with examples and historical anecdotes, Greg once again, proves himself to be the master storyteller

As with Essentialism, Greg displays great humility and vulnerability in sharing deep, personal experiences that will resonate with readers. He explains how tough & challenging situations can be substituted, with the right mindset & approach, with enjoyable & successful outcomes. Most importantly, Greg emphasizes time and again that achieving Effortless results does not equal taking shortcuts, rather a scientific approach to curbing distractions, focusing on efficiency & effectiveness, and a positive outlook to life's situations thrown at us. Greatly loved the read and look forward to another book by Greg

I would recommend reading these books in order and next to each other as the learning, retention, and application can be easily doubled by combining the practical aspects of Essentialism & Effortless action!

In this era of unnecessary information load through social media, OTTs, news, blogs we have lost ourselves. Busyness or just roaming in malls with facebook/ tinder friends to keep ourselves occupied or filling time. We are doing things we hate from our core , knowing smoking, alcohol, drugs, social media addiction can kill us in the long run we are still part of it due to FOMO. We achieve best results when we are truly aligned with our values, beliefs and doing activities with total commitment, this state is usually effortless. How to become effortless to achieve meaningful things in life must read this title. Highly recommended
