Having read beautiful romances by the author, this one came as a surprise, but nevertheless, she has done a wonderful job with this one too. The characters are realistic and strong, and have a sense of humour. I loved how Aria assigns a name for ‘X’. They have been described in detail and their back stories help us understand their actions and fears. I wanted to see more of Aria’s relationship with her mother, but I really loved the friendship Karan shared. The descriptions are detailed and many scenes could be visualised easily. The story is a mixture of so many things, suspense, murders, safe houses, politicians, film stars, hired killers, body guards, friendship, and love. The book is so addictive, and it was very difficult for me to keep the book down once I started it, because I really wanted to know what happened next.
Aria is in awe of her new patient “X” as she calls him as he has an aura and security around him. No information about him is shared and hes given a confidential treatment. He is strong, handsome and has an analytical mind which she keeps getting a glimpse of. Who is he? Why is his information kept confidential and why is he affecting her so much? Karan is a man on mission. A mission to unearth his parents killers and seek revenge. His agenda is clear and he believes in guarding his heart. But suddenly feelings which he never experienced, he started feeling for Aria? She is able to walk through his defenses? What happens when two extremely opposite people meet? Clashes, lots of chemistry and oodles of passion. This book promises all that and a lot more. The suspense is handled well. The characters are defined well with their back stories justifying their personalities. Aria’s relationship with her mom is written well. The story is written well. A different genre attempted by the author and she has done a good job holding on to the story and suspense. Her forte is relationships and romance which she has blended well even in this genre and will surprise you with her detailed writing and characterization.
One thing that stands out in all Shilpa Suraj’s books is the humour. Her dialogues are witty with just a hint of snark in them. The initial interactions between Aria and Karan in the hospital, are chuckle-worthy with the repartees flying fast and swift. Aria’s nicknames for the security guards based on their physical characteristics make you smile. And the best part? The Elephant in pink tutu is back, and this time the elephant is doing polka!! Author Shilpa Suraj has written highly successful breezy romances ( like my favourite Kapoor Brothers series). She has shifted gears and come up with a romantic thriller this time. For an author to balance two genres is a tricky job. You need to have sizzling chemistry between the characters to keep romance readers happy. You also need to have fast-paced action to keep the thrill-seekers entertained. The author manages to balance both quite well. There is never a dull moment while reading the book. So if you have a few hours on hand and are in the mood to read a book with action, comedy, romance, emotion and an elephant doing the polka, do pick up The Right Kind Of Wrong!
Generally I finish a book in a few hours if it really interests me. This book caught my eyes for its peculiar name- “The right kind of wrong”. 23% of the book talks about irrelevant conversations between Dr Aria Dubey and an unnamed patient ‘X’ until he vanishes from the hospital. Story kept on circling round and round and I wasn’t sure what am I reading by then...a mystery, thriller or a romantic novel. The story started then after and picked up its pace and a reader gained interest by thinking as to Who is Mr X and did he fall for Dr Dubey, daughter of a veteran actress who is strong and smart.
While you read this book, you will never get settled until the end. Story line is definitely different but honestly needs little bit of professional editing. Author Shilpa Suraj’s idea towards this story had a Bollywood style in it therefore You'll be hooked to the story till the last page.
The narrative is interesting and kept me on edge throughout. I just couldnt stop till i finished it. All the characters were described beautifully. The mystery was maintained till the end. I would like to read many such stories from the autbor.
Dr. Aria Dubey has an unexpected patient come into the emergency service in a critical state. The patient’s name, details are highly confidential, and no other doctors or staff can attend him except Aria and her senior. Patient X and Aria develop an awkward bond and before he could completely heal, he is missing from the highly secured hospital premises.
As Karan Bhatnagar, patient X and the intelligence officer arrives at Aria’s doorstep, Aria finds herself at the end of gun fire and as target along with Karan. Karan does not mind risking his life to avenge his personal loss and as he gets attracted to Aria in the process, he is torn between his mission to find the killers and express his feelings for Aria. Will Karan be able to find the culprits or will Aria get in the way of his mission forms the rest of the story.
The background of the story is interesting with a stranger being treated by a doctor under extreme security conditions and slowly their lives getting entangled unintentionally. The way the author unfolds the past of Karan, starting from his name, his profession, the story behind his mission is very impressive, as the reader is kept on the edge as each piece of this puzzle is revealed. The characters of Aria and Karan are contrasting but complement each other when necessity arises. Aria especially is endearing as she keeps switching between the duty-bound doctor and the girl who cannot resist from falling love with Karan — equal parts of bold and vulnerable.
The story has equal doses of romance and thrill, with crackling chemistry between the lead pair along with them hunting down the culprits. The mystery is also held till the end by the author without giving away many clues, hence keeping the reader guessing. While some parts of the narration might feel cliched as often seen in crime thrillers. With a gripping narration and fast pace, pick this one if you are a fan of romance or thriller genres.
Dr. Aria Dubey has to be in charge of Patient X who is grouchy, grumpy and almost strangled Aria. But there is a past behind patient X and he needs help from Dr. Dubey. Patient X is on a mission to find out killers, killers who killed his family and only Aria can help him
Aria and patient X are on an adventure which more than involves getting into dangerous games.
The author beautifully paints the personality of Aria Dubey and how sparks fly between her and Patient X.
Shilpa also captures the relationship of Aria with her mother and the dynamics that are reflective on the way she deals with her relationship with others.
Normally I choose thriller or suspense with utmost criteria as very few can do justice to it but coming from a known author with so many good books I choose it without a second thought. And trust me it was worth reading. The story has a beautiful flow of events, revealing of suspense is very good, the romance is great, the base is strong and the twist and end result is just amazing. I loved it thoroughly and recommend to everyone.
